Jupiter in Ardra – Jupiter in Gemini
“Compassion refers to the arising in the heart of the desire to relieve the suffering of all beings.” — Ram Das
Jupiter in Ardra has a very independent, free spirit and will fight for the weak, marginalised, animals and nature. Wilderness and wildlife will almost always bring joy and hope. May be a kind of activist making a lot of noise about something they believe in. Will experience many storms and intense moments in life as they are asked to surrender to the forces that are beyond our control. Lots of moisture or emotional expression, fear, anger, sorrow, tears, renewal and reunions; Rudra emotions; lots of stormy weather, scattered. They can be a little disorganised, scattered and over-extended as they try to do too much for everyone This and their spontaneity might get in the way of actually completing projects. Their focus on all the little details can cause them to miss the bigger picture (though many other factors can easily alter this). The can be good at making money through commercial enterprise forging good relationships with almost everyone. They tend to put forward a lot of effort to get what they want and they believe in the power of the individual initiative.
“The spiritual journey is individual, highly personal. It can’t be organised or regulated. It isn’t true that everyone should follow one path. Listen to your own truth.” — Ram Das
Many have very good knowledge of modern technology, coded signals, hand held devices, online skills dealing with a lot of information, messaging and social media. Jupiter in Mercury can generally bring finger dexterity, and wise touch. Ardra might give electrical surges. Lots of collaboration and group work, friends and acquaintances. Jupiter in Ardra can be good for a busy executive with lots of different meetings, appointments, reports, documentation. They tend to know a little bit about everything, often without knowing a lot about any one thing. Good for news anchor or social media personality, printing, publishing, writing, scripting, book-making, media generally, photography, handcrafts and many hobbies. Always up to something new, and meeting new people. They are very chatty and talkative. Broad scope of humanistic messages, but Jupiter doesn’t always go very deep since Gemini is very surface level, but they may have good knowledge of the Jungle. A lot of short trips, commuting between one place and another. They are curious and they usually come to know their neighbourhood quite well, they like to go off trail.
“Being in love, rather than giving or taking love, is the only thing that provides stability. Being in love means seeing the beloved all around me.” (Seems to allude to Brahma who kept growing heads so he could see his beloved in every direction.). — Ram Das
This is typically a favourable placement for children and spouse; especially for a good husband in a woman’s chart; though it’s likely that she will see more than one marriage. Husband figure is likely to be disheveled, intense, unusual and possibly uncivilised somehow; especially when Jupiter is in the 3rd pada which gets debilitated in the Navamsha. Open relationships are usually better for these natives as they are almost too friendly, flirty and touchy with almost everyone, which of course, can challenge most any relationship. Their signals can be broad, permissive and easily misunderstood; they’re usually really touchy-feely-huggy types. This kind of wandering nature can have a negative effect on personal relationships as their partner may not feel they are anything special since one gives off such nice vibe to everyone. Too much of a social butterfly and too much spontaneity for long-term responsibilities which can effect their career life as well. They will always want to go off and experience something new Their independence is very important to them.
“The miracle that saves the world, the realm of human affairs, from its normal, “natural” ruin is ultimately the fact of natality, in which the faculty of action is ontologically rooted. It is, in other words, the birth of new men and the new beginning, the action they are capable of by virtue of being born.” — Hannah Arendt
Guru and father figures: may have a tribal background or come from a marginalised community. They typically follow some kind of Shaivism, natural law, or even law of the jungle. Natives with this placement will likely change their beliefs several times in their life, their principles may be inconsistently applied and their life philosophy somewhat incoherent. They try to be politically correct (progressive?). And can be culturally relativistic and polymorphic as a result. This is very much Brahma checking out his own daughter, relationships with professors or older men. Older men may go for much younger women. Children may run wild or have some Ardra type debilitation; the same goes for a woman’s husband. If Rahu is involved in any way, these Jupiter figures may just be way too wild.
Jupiter in Ardra Pada 1, Sagittarius Navamsha:
Jupiter in Ardra Pada 2, Capricorn Navamsha: Debilitation pada. Their hopes can be especially misplaced here. The suffer from bad advice. Husband may be especially disheveled and unusual, but good working relationship is possible. There may be difficulties bearing children, but this placement is ultimately favourable to give at least one child.
Jupiter in Ardra Pada 3, Aquarius Navamsha:
Jupiter in Ardra Pada 4, Pisces Navamsha: Might get a good guru, high social prestige later in life. Publication of books or textbooks
“Suffering is part of our training program to become wise.” “The next message you need is always right where you are.” “Everything in life is there as a vehicle for your transformation. Use it!” — Ram Das
“Shooting at a man who is returning the compliment means going into action with the greatest speed of which a man’s muscles are capable, but mentally unflustered by an urge to hurry or the need for complicated nervous and muscular actions which trick shooting involves.” — Wyatt Earp
“You called down the thunder, well now you’ve got it.” — Wyatt Earp, “Tombstone”
“The more a man knows, the more he forgives.” ”I shall be an autocrat: that’s my trade. And the good lord will forgive me: that’s his.” “You philosophers are lucky men. You write on paper and paper is patient. Unfortunate Empress that I am, I write on the susceptible skins of living beings.” — Catherine the Great
“That even in the darkest of times we have the right to expect some illumination, and that such illumination might well come less from theories and concepts than from the uncertain, flickering, and often weak light that some men and women, in their lives and their works, will kindle under almost all circumstances and shed over the time span that was given to them.” — Hannah Arendt

Phala Deepika: Jupiter in 1st house “makes a person handsome, attractive, fortunate, long living, fearless, and blessed with children.”
Jataka Bharnam: “Jupiter in 1st house makes the native highly educated, learned, intelligent, full of gratitude, extremely liberal and handsome. Suffers from phlegmatic disease, if afflicted there is much collection of fat on the body and the native has to suffer harm one way or another. There is something serene and noble in the way they talk, walk and move about. Upon maturity his belly becomes round and body becomes fatty. He will be tall and strong, and famous for his virtues, learning and generosity.”
B.V. Raman: Jupiter in the 1st house: “A magnetic personality is bestowed on the native. Optimistic spirit, jovial disposition and pleasant manners are indicated. The native will have more sons if the 5th house is not afflicted. Self-indulgence and gluttony will affect the health. If with Rahu, sons will be committed. Body will be inclined to corpulence. Lawyers, professors, writers, theologians, etc. come under this planet. The man becomes an influential leader. Disease may result from impure blood.”
Jataka Bharnam: “Moon & Jupiter conjunction makes a person courteous, of firm disposition, keeps his thoughts secret, remains engaged in virtuous acts and is good to others. They are religious and have faith in the gods, are devoted to teachers, extremely popular, ready to do works for public welfare; they are pure, clear, liberal, theistic.”
BPHS: 7th lord in the 1st house: “the native will travers others’ wives, be wicked, skilful, be devoid of fortitude and will be afflicted by windy diseases.”
B.V. Raman: 7th lord in the 1st house: “The native might marry someone he has known since childhood, or they were brought up in the same house. Ones partner will be stable and mature. B.V. Raman: 10th lord in the 1st house: “The native rises by sheer dint of perseverance. He will seek a profession of independence, they become famous, a pioneer in his field of work, and he may found an institution or engage himself in social projects.”
Commentary: Strong, healthy, wealthy and wise. They might have a wild look to them somehow. Lover of nature, very active, charismatic, friendly, flirty, chatty. Might become very attached to spouse and have difficulty letting go if there are separations. Likely to remain friends with ex’s and there could be more than a few, especially for women since Jupiter rules over husband figures. They might put on weight later in life. Lots of faith in themselves, always hopeful, like a friendly chatty wise neighbour. Might suffer from overconfidence not only in themselves but in people generally; this can bring lots of disappointment. They are typically very charitable, humanistic, warm-hearted and philosophical but not usually spiritual. They might be a brahmin, or their family many be spiritual but they are unlikely to follow any of that mumbo-jumbo. They are very likely to seek out a philosophical humanistic partner for a kind of teacher student relationship. They can be very physical and touchy with people (hugging types), or they might work with the body in some way. Will tend to assume everyone is just like them, lots of twinning energy. They are very likely to work closely with their partner and possibly take on their identity in various ways. This could take the form of messages and announcements on social media that appear to come from the spouse; the two might almost be interchangeable somehow. They could start some kind of association for animals, wildlife or the disadvantage.

Commentary: Powerful people with veins popping out on their face. They look like they’re about to explode or turn into a werewolf any minute. They may be on steroids, or some kind of growth hormone.
Team sports, enjoyment and celebration of guilty pleasures. Wild game and wild grains. Healthy natural food. Carnivorous. Dinner parties. Secret spiritual groups. Short secret trips for enjoyment. These people might kind of change into a werewolf in Jupiter periods. Very exciting games where nobody can guess the outcome. I suspect sex can be wild and indulgent and little law of the jungle and power games.

They might find themselves exploited by their professors, The are liberal and broad-minded, but Jupiters Moral compass doesn’t work in Ardra: everything is ok. Jupiter doesn’t do so well in Ardra because this is where he lost his head, of perhaps mere got an arrow in the thigh. The ladies with this placement might et into exploitive relationships with fathers, gurus, professors. The men are more likely to be the exploitive agent. Though the exploitation may happen based on age & authority rather than gender.
