We don’t speak of the sun much. But the Sun is everything. We dignify Saturn and talk of his greatness. But nobody has to talk of the Suns greatness. It like the truth: beyond words, beyond all of us and all of this, beyond the beyond lies. Sat chit ananada, the Sun.

I’m a hypocrite. Peace! See the other side! Can’t we all just get along! HA! I’m the first one to open up a can of whup-ass. What is the answer to violence? What do you do in the face of willful destruction? Jupiter is the first to try to Justify violence; they’ve created a whole moral-calculus for it. But he doesn’t like Rahu so he won’t justify evil and won’t accept confusion. Saturn can explain violence, and takes a purely practical approach. Venus can inspire much violence; but she is gentle and vulnerable as a naked woman caught out on the stormy rocks. Mercury is a rather crafty one. Not violent in himself, but he has the dual energy to push things to their polar extremes. He’s ambivalent. He makes the plan, sends the signal, let’s out the battle call and goes back and forth between both sides crossing the deadly space between. Seeing things from the perspective of the other side isn’t just the path of peace; it’s also the way to win a war; to think like the enemy; to know their next move before they do. This is just good chess. But the yogi, the vaghat, also has to think 10 moves ahead: sacrifice for the future, for the other, for the greater good. You want to be a doctor? Ok make the sacrifice. How do you get from where you are to where you wan to be? Sacrifice some of your precious time, money and energy. Wealth is really just a means to store energy. How effective it is is another question. This question is what do you want? Do you want the violence to stop? Do you want to rule over land? Over people? Power (energy)? Wealth? Then between here and there you will have to give something up! This is the law of the material universe, of desire fulfillment. If you want spiritual life, then these desires don’t matter and it’s not about what you want, the sacrifice is at its root. Then anything is possible, even violence when the universe sweeps us up. We are fortunate who can live without a gun by our side. We are are all blessed by the choices we don’t have to make. But even beyond justifications, we all have to deal with that fire inside that so easily burns one and all. The passion of Mars who only goes one way and is not interested in negotiation. ⬇️

Politics is so dual. I sometimes think it’s our job as yogis to find the middle ground in all that duality; to resist taking sides. To work hard to see the other side even more so when we become entrenched in our own views. We are human, we will have our opinions. But at least truly try to see things from the other side before you form that opinion. In some sense the harshest reality we have to face is that the other side has a point too. Time to put on your big boy (or girl) pants Yogis. It doesn’t matter what team you cheer for, what side you fight for. We are all participants in the great game, the secret supreme. It doesn’t matter where you are watching from; everywhere is the same astonishing wonder of that secret. Bear witness to that: the wonder beneath it all. #nonduality #oneness #peace #wonder

I had to laugh a little. I finished up the first thirty week Nakshatra course. We discussed Revati; the Shepard, the helmsman, the ferry man. The one who helps us cross over. Lots or racer reving their engines, the Spanish rolling their rrrs, the sttttutttuerers who can’t find the next syllable. At some point they will certainly feel like they out out in a little boat in the middle of the ocean trapped the sameness of it all. The first song I learned in recorder and piano was “Michael Row Your Boat Ashore” After the Revati class, I looked over at my chart and realized my Navamsha ascendant was Revati. It was one of those beautiful astrological moments when I suddenly saw how the navamsha is manifesting itself later in my life. The navamsha is a little like the dharma chart; the underlaying compass that gives our life a subtle, but substantial direction. The navamsha shows where we will ultimately find purpose and meaning. We don’t see it until late in life because it’s such and underlaying factor. Where we are actually going with all of this doesn’t start to become apparent until much later in life. I’m sure a certain level of self awareness doesn’t hurt. Looking back I can see how this Revati has shown itself here and there almost as a consequence of all the other Jyeshta/Mrigashirsa stuff I do. To sum up the three Nakshatras we get research, writing, revelation, and a lot of travelling. By moon, the standoffish friendly curious neighbour. By ascendant, the intense adventurer and occultist messenger. By Revati navamsha I’ve taken it all a bit far and probably much further gone from normal reality than I think. Another cue for Revati might be: “Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines, cause when Ashwini begins you better be ready to Go. I hope this Nakshatra Project will raise the bar for all of us who wish to understand the universe through the stars. There is a full Arts degree in tis project: ancient science, mythology, history, ayurveda, psychology, philosophy, Shaivism, Buddhism, Christianity... I have used all the sources I could find to understand the subtlest shift in energy between the 27 wives of the moon.
