Saturn in Aries
“It must be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage than a new system. For the initiator has the enmity of all who would profit by the preservation of the old institution and merely lukewarm defenders in those who gain by the new ones.” “Never was anything great achieved without danger.” — Machiavelli
They tend to be serious people, possibly a little scary to others. You don’t want to get in their way. They might even be a little afraid of themselves.
People who are out there on a limb, pushing themselves to the limits, terrified, but doing it; doing the impossible. They are not usually nice people, but they can get some charm from other planets and they can certainly get things done. They are full of self-doubt, self-criticism, awareness of their many failings, but never quitting. They can be excessively self-reliant and self-going. Rigid; some say stubborn. They do what they want and don’t care about the consequences, they will gladly face them. They become the true trailblazers, they have survived in the toughest environment; they have gone through hell and by later in life they ate absolutely fearless.
They will suffer the consequences from their lack impulse control, but if they have any blessing in life they will learn from this to take on only the most challenging missions in order to gain any kind of satisfaction. I’m not sure if they really care wether they live or die. They can be very self-conscious feeling like they are never enough, a nobody, undeserving, unworthy of anything and will have to work very hard for everything in life.
They tend to resist going deep for any kind of true self knowledge and they certainly do not let others in easily. In their youth they are typically full of fear, self doubt, and worry as everything seems to be life or death. They can also be extremely lazy and apathetic but if they sent on a mission they will tackle it with everything they have. These are the kinds of people that get sent into situations of certain death; but often emerge victorious (or perhaps these are just the ones we hear about). Their fear of rejection can be strong, and this can cause them to act out in ways that will obviously get them rejected, or they might try to hide in the shadows and never do anything for fear of rejection. They might prefer anonymity, but I’m not sure they will get this. This Saturn will demand that these native sacrifice themselves for others at every opportunity.
They tend to remain fearful of attack, and they may have very strong walls, but these only serve to invite further attack. These natives are typically defiant, disobedient and rebellious: independent to the extreme. They might feel like there is never enough time, they will manage to remain busy constantly as they wait for the critics, the attack their independence (which many others see as selfishness or stony defiance). Many of them are libertarian or something close to that. They are less likely to make the first move, but if they do have to move: look out.
Part of the reason Saturn doesn’t like Aries is that Saturn is just coming into the light after going through hell. Saturn is blinded by the light, he see’s his many imperfections, his darkness, shame, guilt; a servant at the command of any other. They can take a lot of suffering and humiliation; it’s shameful what some people put themselves through just to prove themselves. They are not usually very warm people; but it’s too these people some of the most difficult and daunting challenges are addressed. They will be turned to stone in order to complete their mission. Hard bodies that can take a lot of punishment. Many of these natives might be considered morally corrupt, but they often did what they had to do to survive. And they do make good survival guides. Or if you want to know how things really work, talk to them, but it won’t be a rosy perspective. It’s not uncommon to find them on a long impossible journey somewhere. They are very hearty people, and capable of making the most difficult life or death discussions.
They might be afraid to start over even after they have lost everything they will keep pushing. They really can’t take a hint. Possibly some level of autism they doesn’t understand social cues very well. After Saturn matters, their life will begin. These are they guys going to the gym for 6 hours a day, the ones working hard to build their body, becoming hard, become a somebody instead of the nobody they were born as. What makes them dangerous (in a good or bad way) is that they have something to prove.
Health: The life force is forward and upwards in Aries: Saturn here puts a cap on this life force. Perhaps the Aries relation with the red blood cells allows Saturn in Aries to restrict the oxygen (or prana). Prana is the fire which gives warmth to things and rising them upwards; again, Saturn would restrict these things, making them cold, short and probably a bit weak, easily and often scared, as well as having some trouble with their breathing. But these folks have very strong and determined hearts and will often struggle against anything that restricts their independence. Aries also represents the head so you could say that this Saturn gives them an especially thick skull that will allow them to do anything they put their mind to.
Speaking of the head, they often really do have something wrong with their head: problems starting in the brain are common and they may either be born with or develop brain problems over time. Genetics or accidents can play a significant role in their fate.. Saturn causes dryness, hardness, slowness to the brain and body. Hormonal problems like low dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin, oestrogen, GABA, and endorphins is all possible. They often lack natural reward mechanisms and well as the normal conscience that punished us when we have done wrong. Almost like they have an overdeveloped sense of reason. More heavily afflicted it can lead to the kind of pathology that is the right stuff for an exploitive CEO, or a brutal military leader, fighters and athletes, people on a suicide mission, and self-destructive people. Machiavelli literally has Saturn in Bharani.
Fibromyalgia, delayed satisfaction, lack of pleasure, or enjoyment, lack of bonding with others, mental illness, self-destructive, obsessive compulsive, anxiety, stress, agitation, depression, poor digestion or appetite (thus nutrition), poor breathing, body pain, taboo or pleasure seeking behaviour, blood, heart, lungs, body pain and stiffness. Both extremes of sexual perversity and frigidity (or impotency) can be experienced with this placement. If Rahu or Ketu are also involved, there may be some hormonal imbalance that may take several generations to work itself out.
You can’t expect anything to be easy when Saturn is in Aries. Some kind of physical pain or mental anguish will be a part of their lives they will have to get used to working through. Giving up is not an option. A well-placed Mars or even just an aspect from Jupiter can bring great success from this Saturn, but even then the feelings of enjoyment of that success may be lacking. They will have to deal with the devil inside of themselves and they tend to meet with the worse side of human nature.
