They don’t have a good sense of boundaries and can be found meddling in areas where they don’t really belong. They might be criticised as a kind of traitor, a foreign spy, a stranger. Always a stranger in a strange land. When they return home they are even stranger. It’s like being the one man in a crowd of woman or visa-versa. That one person who gets all the attention because their are different; they have infiltrated and gotten into the back rooms where they don’t really belong; but at least for a time Rahu can pretend like he does belong. They belong to some kind of foreign organisation; for better of worse they will always look to the outsiders. They often provide some kind of inroad into foreign cultures, a path that others can follow to acquire entrance to the most closely guarded back rooms.
There are several military personnel, spies, special operations, They often use some kind of special status or protected status to gain entry in the way Ketu might use surrender, peace, non-violence, non-attachment and these various irregular methods of defeating the enemy. They can be masters of ignoring provocation, or abandoning the dispute. They can also be jacks of all trades as they do many random jobs throughout their life. It’s usually a bit unclear just what it is they do.
They can be very good fighters. Stoic, ambivalent, unmoved. Ketu in Virgo can absolutely annihilate the enemy even before the enemy realises they are at war. From another perspective they might loose the battle but win the war. Things are never really clear when Rahu & Katy are involved.

Transits of
Rahu in Uttara Bhadrapada &
Ketu in Uttara Phalguni
Summary
Oddly enough, plastic garbage bags were invented in this cycle. Considering plastic is the biggest source of durable waste, we have managed to make more garbage just to hid the garbage. The nuclear option always seems to come up: the concept of mutually assured destruction; world wide disarmament, Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF). Hamas came to being, funded by foreigners. The Korean War was not so different from the current Ukraine war with foreign wealth disrupting the whole region. This transit has never been good for Lebanon, Israel and ht middle east. Previous aggressions against Lebanon in 2006; the assassination of their president, the creation of Hamas.
The Korean War was part of a much greater aggression against China from all side. In 1950 China was forced to invade Tibet in order to counter the British moves there. That was when then British enthroned the Dalai Lama and the whole Free Tibet movement began as what we can now see was a typical wester operation to destabilise their enemies. The I believe the whole lineage of Buddhism that flows through the Dalai Lama is deeply tainted by their this, what is essentially the foundation of modern Buddhism by British & American secret service. They saw the effect Gandhi’s non-violence had in rallying the people, they simple used that to the world to rally against China. We might note that Gandhi was arrested by the British in the previous cycle. The Ketu side of this seems to support irregular forms of warfare, spying, physiological warfare, random acts of violence. Assassination attempts are a common occurrence which we’ve also seem in recent times around the world. It’s not a good time to be a right wing politician.
In 1894 the e women of Australia were the first in the world to get the right to vote. In 1913 a woman’s rights activist in Norway died running in front of the Kings racehorse during a race. These days women women are literally fighting for their rights in the Olympic boxing ring. This Rahu brings and imposture into what is typically a safe, quite, isolates space or a private affair. This Rahu brings is a meddlesome foreign influence to things which are really none of their business: like women voting or men in the woman’s change room.
It quite interesting that the Human Genome Project also came out in this transit to really highlight the mixed ancestry and the blending of castes that makes up each of us. Inroads seems to get made in this transit, or perhaps it’s just a foot hold. At the same time people were turning their fascination toward the whole history of the Human Gene (2006) Tibet also got it’s first modern railway opening the land again to outside influence, eroding local cultures, and ultimately destabilising the world through the reduction of borders and boundaries. India and China also opened a mountain pass to traffic after many years that it was closed as Rahu turns our attention to the most distant places, and the most exotic cultures. I the current transit we find that many countries in the world overhauled their visa process to make it easier people to travel while also trying to control and document the people crossing their borders.
Native land acts to make aboriginals wards of the state and confiscate their land (1876) were enacted 1876 in 1913 Australia restricted Aboriginals from owning land outside of reservation areas. It seem fitting that in between these two transits some American Indians struck oil on their land and instantly became one of the richest groups of people in the world.
We find some historic footnotes on music through these transits, mostly in the past, but I’m sure a good researcher would fins more recent examples. The first issue of Billboard Magazine 1894; meanwhile Vogue magazine already established, started turning towards progressive feminism. From a spiritual prospective there seems to be some shady proselytising, early American churches in Korea and Philippines buying converts, Uttara Bhadrapada is supposed to provide a life line, but when rahu is here it does just the opposite, he puts some kind of slow poison in that life line so that we don’t immediately see the or connect the consequences. We might again look at the current period where the news has been non-stop about the blockades holding back life saving aid from Gaza. Western fund pouring into Ukraine to provide a lifeline for the proxy war against Russia. Local cutters around the world are being completely destabilised in numerous ways.
This Rahu is incredibly destructive for local cultures, the home, the education system, security or underlying stability. As we would expect in a water sign there is a big ripple effect from Rahu’s intensity. It’s of course so generous of the NATO countries to ‘help’ Ukraine destroy itself. Regardless of how we might feel about either side, it would just be a border skirmish without NATO involvement. It has since evolved into what could become WW III at any moment. And this is the tension provided by this Rahu.
I have written before about how Rahu in Virgo can be very provocative; Ketu is just the opposite, like Ghandi: “I didn’t do anything, why are you arresting me.” (At least I’m sure he must have said something like this at some point. Passive non-resistance might also be called aggressive sitting in the way. It sort of manages to be both completely passive and extremely aggressive all at the same time with Ketu’s specialty of mixing the two extremes. Surrender is used as a means of defeating the enemy; a strategic defeat.
There were also a few high profile royal (or like royal weddings) and high profile weddings. One marriage was expected to overcome a dynastic feud between royal families of Europe. John Lennon and Yoko Ono were married in this cycle. I’m not sure what to think of this other than to say that Ketu in 6th house ignores red flags and inherent imbalances. The tribal chief is so in awe that he takes foreign funds and allows the building of a church or home of a foreign agent on their land without realising the consequences. Do you really think Rockefeller started his foundation and gave generously to Red Cross out of a sense of altruism? These. Peaceful foreigners are very often the first wave a foreign invasion, We can see how recently countries around the world have been realising this and setting strict limits on foreign NGOs, regulating church activity, foreign agents and spy’s seem to be everywhere. Border infiltration, a massive influx of foreigners.
One of the troubles we face in this transit is that Saturn is coming into Pisces from the other direction. It’s often said that Rahu gives effects like Saturn, so Saturn will give effects like Rahu, thus drawing the whole thing out. Saturn is also to like try to bring some law and order and thus more firmly establish regulated a life line. Saturn doesn’t directly affect the 4th house but he could trigger mass migrations for work. Many poor countries are likely to get their digital nomad visas in order. The energy of this Saturn is like railing that you’ve just been lied to and you go away a little dejected to be alone for a little while. It’s certainly isolationist. Over the next couple of years he will show us the consequences of Rahu’s foreign fascination and the frustration of local cultures. These two heavyweights will be conjunct in Purva Bhadrapada on April 21, 2025.
