They are born with a sense of purpose, to find the truth, to teach, to preach. They are strongly identified with their belief or ideology, their religion. Their whole life revolves around theories, the church, the university. They are typically of a high moral and ethical people, but they can be quite insistent that their belief is the best one. Their whole identity and is tied up with theory in a why they won’t let them concede anything without suffering a complete collapse of their identity (which is likely if this Sun and ascendant are heavily afflicted by malefic planets.

They typically have the best gurus or teachers, the best university, the tallest temple. Scholarships and bursaries and everything is open to them in their path to higher wisdom. The best of everything. They often found their own religion or ideology, or bring greater glory to their father of gurus legacy.

Powerful father figures, often well connected in fields of governance, law, military, religion or I the university where they study such topics. There can be both great respect for ones father (or guru) and well as ego clashes and power struggles. These natives cannot blindly follow; they need really powerful guru.
Simply put, they get lucky where they take initiative; when they just go for it. Their beliefs compel action: they can’t just sit wth their beliefs, they have to act, they are looked to as ideological or spiritual leaders; thought leaders and key players in political and academic thought.

From a young age they know what they are to do in this world and they immediately set out to do it. They are give one task which they do for their entire life and then pass the torch on to the next generation. They carry on their fathers legacy

This works well in saints, spiritual masters who pass along great ideas; these people can be some of the brightest minds; but this Sun can also turn ideologically ugly: their certainty brings them directly into a brick wall. the legitimate continuation of a tradition, or becomes the symbolic representative of a nation/religion/philosophy. The shadow side is equally important: certainty of righteousness. The person doesn’t merely want power; he can believe his authority is legitimate because he embodies the correct order.

The Classics Rules the 1st house for Leo ascendant. Karako Bhavo Nashto.

Karako Bhavo Nashto: When the karaka (or signifying agent) of a house is placed the house of his significations it destroys the results of that house. Sun is the Karaka for the 1st, 9th & 10th houses. Too much father. One’s father is a powerful, possibly a military general, some kind of significant authority figure not just in one’s own life, but in society as well. With just a little negative influence on this Sun, the father can be cruel, belittling, and somewhat self righteous. Of course one may very well grow up to be a similar type of father figure. In a woman’s chart, it may be the husband, the father of her children who obtains a position of authority, or perhaps merely carries out his fatherhood duties in a self-centred way.

Phala Deepika Sun in 9th house: “One will lose their father, but will have children and relatives and revere the gods and brahmins.”
Jataka Bharnam Sun in 9th house: “Keeps the person engaged in doing the rites of his religion and endowed with noble and excellent intellect. Happiness from son and friends, but enmity towards mother’s family. A strong Sun gives a religious attitude, patriotism, ascetic with reverence for elders and teachers. Their sons make good progress, their partner is virtuous, and their father’s heath is sound, and he himself is long-lived. Reputed for good and virtuous deeds, and gets distinctions from the king, and collects great wealth.”
B.V. Raman Sun in the 9th house: “The native may change his faith if the Sun is afflicted or poorly placed. He will show hostile feelings towards his father and lack respect for elders and preceptors. If Sun is not afflicted he will be a dutiful son with regard for spiritual pursuits. If conjunct Moon: eye troubles. With Venus: sickness and ailments. Health will be ordinary and the native gets little patrimony. He will be ambitious and enterprising.”

Chamatkar Chintamani Sun in the 9th house: “The native is a wicked man. His good deeds are not the outcome of noble thoughts; they are performed out of vanity, to beguile others. None-the-less, all this works in the natives favour. He gains popularity. He is considered virtuous and religious and is so praised. Mentally he is at war and worries because his deeds are not backed by sincerity. He is not fair or just, even to his own brothers, so he suffers even at their hand. He lives a life of constant worry and anxiety. Essentially they are vain, showy and opportunistic. They change like a weather-clock. He is unlucky, uneducated, irrational, characterless and a debauchee. The native gets wealth, friends and sons; respects saints and learned people. Denied love and affection of father and partner; strained relations with maternal uncle. The native is headstrong and won’t take advice from father or preceptor. He is pitta guru dweshi; he readily changes his faith.
“The native loves truth, has beautiful long hair, well-wisher of his clansmen, sickness in childhood, well settled by middle age; handsome, blessed with longevity and wealth. Sticks to family faith and rituals. He is sharp and thoughtful and takes the virtuous path in life. Happiness through family and friends. The native worships the Sun and other gods. He is religious by not lucky. Strained relations with his own father. Happiness from wife and children.
“If exalted or in own sign and influenced by benefics; there is longevity for the father. Rich, lives to meditate and devoutly austere. Trust in, and respect for preceptors and learned people. The father of the native dies if in depression, or influenced by malefics.
“The greeks found this native famous, God fearing and helped by maternal uncle. Western scholars say he will be steady, dignified, honoured, fair and just. God-fearing, well behaved, broad minded, deep religious feelings, success through legal or foreign affairs, and the possibility of long voyages. The ninth house stands for father, progeny, partners siblings, virtue, deeds and desires, wealth and happiness through it, reputation, faith, charity, favours, medicine, and foreign travel. Sun in the 9th makes early life difficult, middle life easy and later life unhappy. The Sun in Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius makes the native a soldier of engineer. In Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn a business man or agriculturist. In Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius a writer, publisher or teacher. In Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces a dramatist or chemist.”

BPHS 1st lord in the 9th house: “The native will be fortunate, dear to the people, a devotee of lord Vishnu, a skilful eloquent speaker, endowed with wife, sons and wealth. The native will be steeped in sattvic and devotional feeling and will be a favourite of the people because of his moral values which seems proper and respectable to all.”
B.V. Raman 1st lord in the 9th house: “Generally the favourite, protector of others, religious, a worshiper of Vishnu, good orator, happiness on account of wife and children. Rich. If well disposed, will inherit good ancestral or paternal property. The father will be famous, philanthropic and god-fearing.” Vahana Yoga: 1st lord in the 4th, 9th, or 11th house: “The person comes to own vehicles or other material comforts.”

Sun Mahadasha 1959 – 1979:

Immanuel Kant: (AA rating 05:00. Rectified.) Sun conjunct Moon & Mercury; no aspects. Mars in Gemini.
An unique character of western philosophy. More religious than the Church; one of the greatest philosophers of western thought. He was confident in himself & confident in his words. He radiated light of one who is without doubt. His father was a harness and leather craftsman, deeply religious, Pietist, a strict moralist, but honest, gentle and disciplines. Kant both respected and admired his father.
Kant’s philosophy reflects Ashwini in its insistence on immediacy, first principles, and the sovereignty of inner law. Ashwini acts before interpretation; Kant grounds morality in the categorical imperative, an internal command that does not come from society, desire, or circumstance. This is exactly how Ashwini understands action: a pure, unmediated impulse of dharma that arises from within. Ashwini operates from the source, not from consequence, and Kant’s ethics intentionally rejects consequence as a basis for moral evaluation. His entire moral system is an Ashwinic demand for purity of intent, stripped of emotion, reward, fear, or social influence. The swift decisiveness of Ashwini becomes Kant’s insistence that moral law must be universal, immediate, and binding—no hesitation, no calculation, no negotiation. His famous distinction between acting from duty rather than merely in accordance with duty mirrors the Ashwini insistence that true action must arise from the core impulse of the self, not from external conformity.
Kant’s epistemology also reflects Ashwini’s nature as the first nakshatra, the “starting spark” of cognition. Ashwini looks directly at a thing without being distracted by its appearances or social layers; in the Critique of Pure Reason, Kant divides reality into noumena (what is) and phenomena (what appears). This distinction is the intellectual form of Ashwini’s instinct to cut straight to the underlying truth, separating it from the world of impressions, desires, and projections. Ashwini is surgical, fast, and uninterested in ambiguity, and Kant’s philosophy follows this rhythm: he imposes sharp boundaries everywhere—reason vs. understanding, freedom vs. nature, moral law vs. inclination. His system is built out of strict internal lines, categorical separations, and decisive conceptual cuts, all of which resemble the Mars-ruled clarity of Ashwini’s temperament.
Kant’s view of freedom is another Ashwini hallmark. Ashwini is the nakshatra of the healer and the rescuer, but it is also the nakshatra of pure autonomy—the horse that refuses to be broken. Kant’s foundational claim that freedom is not permission but self-legislation reflects Ashwini’s independence perfectly. The true self, for both Kant and Ashwini, is the one that obeys a law it gives itself. This is why Kant rejects both religious command and social custom as legitimate moral foundations. Ashwini does not follow outer rules; it follows its inner fire. Kant intellectualizes this into the structure of rational autonomy, but the energetic logic is the same: freedom means being governed by your own inner dharma, not by external pressures or emotional impulses.
Even Kant’s tone matches Ashwini. His philosophy is abrupt, uncompromising, and morally severe. There is no softness in his writing, no compromise with emotion, no gradual path to moral growth; there is only the stark command: Do what is right because it is right. This resembles the Ashwini style of acting because the action itself is necessary, not because it is pleasant or advantageous. Kant’s distrust of emotion, inclination, and sentiment aligns with Ashwini’s Vata-Pitta impulse to move cleanly and quickly, unencumbered by the heaviness of desire or fear. His insistence that dignity arises from rational agency—not from birth, status, or achievement—echoes Ashwini’s archetype of the divine twins who heal, restore, and act simply because the inner law demands it, not because the world approves.
Taken together, Kant’s system reads like the intellectual expression of Ashwini’s dharmic instinct: fast in its conceptual structure, sharp in its boundaries, internally generated in its authority, and morally absolute in its demands. Where other philosophers wander, nuance, or defer, Kant cuts a straight line. This is the same movement Ashwini makes in the body: a clean impulse, pure direction, a motion that arises from within and takes no instruction from circumstance. Kant is not an airy mystic or a lyrical thinker; he is a warrior of reason, a legislator of internal law, and a builder of moral architecture that stands independent of the world’s shifting appearances. In that sense, his philosophy reflects Ashwini’s deepest qualities more faithfully than almost any other Western thinker.

Novelist. She was born Jane Iliffe, was an English novelist, poet, playwright and writer of educational/conduct literature. She was largely self-educated, politically and socially conservative, and became quite successful despite presenting herself primarily as a wife and mother rather than a professional literary woman. Married farmer Thomas West around 1780–83 and had three sons. Published The Advantages of Education in 1793 and her major success, A Gossip’s Story, in 1796. That novel is particularly interesting because scholars regard it as a likely influence on Jane Austen’s later Sense and Sensibility. She published A Tale of the Times in 1799, Letters to a Young Man in 1801, and The Loyalists in 1812. Her husband died in 1823. She died March 25, 1852, at Little Bowden, aged 93 (just short of 94). Expenses can be exorbitant. Everything has to be the best, the most original, the most exclusive. They basically have to be on a mountain top with a very powerful elite security keeping the gate. They might live in a castle or a fortress.

They helped her quit drinking, smoking and doing drugs, but over time, they took control of her entire life. “I was brainwashed,” she said, “I gave them an enormous amount of money. She also has Ketu conjunct this Sun so she probably doesn’t even have any idea how much she gave these people. Of course this position also means they have to have a lot of money in order to pour a lot of money down the drain. However, aspects to the 6th house, and in Pfeiffer’s case, Rahu & Jupiter in the 6th can bring debts. In Pfeiffer’s case most likely very large debts and several contract litigations. We will also notice a Guru Chantal Yoga in the 6th house granting her many advisors and much advice, but mostly it’s bad advice, the compass with shows the right way is broken and she she’s through the cloud too late. And she likely has a habit of blaming the other without taking personal responsibility.
