Sun in Aries 12th House

Home → Nakshatra Project → Sun in Aries

The basic point of this Sun is that one goes away from home for school and many also live away from home. There tends to be distance and independence from both parents since this is 4th lord in 12th house separating one from mother, and Sun in 12th house separating one from father. Generally speaking they go away from the culture they were born into. The trouble with this Sun is that one tries to do much of what a local community provides all on their own. This Sun can make for very strong minded parents who teach independence; they have be a bit harsh, active, competitive and aggressive; but they are missing from ones day to day routine from a young age.

They will be pulled to foreign places or isolated retreat to find themselves, to find a place they can express themselves. Elite or specialist education that one has to go away or travel to complete.

Sun periods can bring losses of ancestral lands and losses generally through real estate, expensive renovations, travelling abroad for education, spiritual retreat. Father or mother may face health trouble. Later in life they might themselves be a central figure of a spiritual or expat community. Private school, elite or specialized education, private tutors, coaches, specialists rather than general teachers and certainly not any public education unless Saturn is involved. Many of these natives studied medicine, physical therapy, rehabilitation and work at elite levels. They pay for exclusivity, for access. Expenses for privacy, memberships, exclusive retreats. This usually brings wealth, travel, much time in spaces where the public does not have access, private clubs and what not.

This can also relate with specialised training, private tutors, elite private teachers, coaches. There can be very high expenses on education as well. These elite teachers, coaches and schools do no come cheap.

Home is likely in a private, gated community, no public access, possibly secluded. Personal fire is spent in isolation, sacrifice, institutions, or behind-the-scenes struggle rather than emotional fulfillment or family life.

They can be a bit elitist, their whole life revolving around universal, escape, losses, getting away with things. They can be quite spiritual going away to seek truth, private prayer, contemplation, just going away to be alone. These can be powerful people who only express themselves behind the scenes; the source of their power might also be hidden there. They get their best ideas when they are alone. This sun can also inspire spirituality as it illuminates the dreams, and subconscious mind.

When the Sun is 12th from Moon is suggests a disconnection between the outer expressed self, a deeply personal behind the scenes personal, vs the cultural up bringing and public roles. Generally speaking they might only express their truth, themselves behind closed door, at night, when they go away from home.

The Classics Rules the 4th house for Taurus ascendant.

Phala Deepika Sun in 12th house: “Will cause discord between the native and his father, defect his vision, leaving him without wealth or children.”
Jataka Bharnam Sun in 12th house: “Causes the eyesight of the native to be weak, his ideas clash with the father and the mind bends towards improper conduct and thinking is opposed to every accepted assumption and common sense. This is an inauspicious place for Sun: eye trouble, bodily pain, trouble to the uncle, losses and troubles in travel. They may be educated in a foreign country, have trouble with the government, and think about things opposed to morality and religion. These natives are selfless, have the spirit of renunciation, are of wrathful disposition and remain as if intoxicated. If this Sun has malefic influences they may suffer kidney stones, failure in politics and have to visit a prison. Sun conjunct Moon in the 12th house can give alcohol addiction. Additional malefic influence will certainly give problems to the eyes and heart.”
B.V. Raman Sun in the 12th house: “The native may take to an immoral life and engage himself in vile occupations. He will not be quite successful in life and may feel neglected by all. He may suffer loss at some time and have poor eyesight. He will, however, be energetic and have sons.”

Chamatkar Chintamani Sun in the 12th house: “The native develops eye trouble, is a victor in war, self-controlled, success in everything he lays his hands upon. Free from physical pain, success in an obscure and unpopular occupation, trouble from uncle who may meet danger in journey. The eyes of the native are hard hit, he will suffer unexpected loss of wealth, will have a strange sickness, mercurial temperament. He is antisocial and irreligious; afraid of king and thieves. Flatulence at age 36. Malefic influence will cause wasteful expenditure leading to poverty. Will live in places far from the birth place. A strong 12th lord will give him psychic powers and pleasures from wife. If 6th lord conjoins he will suffer leprosy. If well aspected, he escapes from it. Depraved, he suffers from many physical ailments. Early life is unfortunate and obscure, but later life is full of success by his own efforts. If this Sun is afflicted: imprisonment, eccentric with uncommon tastes and inclinations.
The 12th house denotes expenditure, journeys, stay in foreign lands on duty sound sleep, real happiness including conjugal gifts, shipping, government appointments, secret enemies, imprisonment, assault by thieves. If afflicted by Saturn or Mars life will be full of sorrow and suffering, but if well aspected by Jupiter or Saturn the native is capable of much self-sacrifice and endurance. If in Aries, Leo or Sagittarius it makes him miserly and unscrupulous, proud, unfortunate. Trouble through persons in authority, opposite sex, death of loved ones and from enemies. If in Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn the native gives value to ends, has endurance, reputation and is independent, money minded and rational. He will have occult and psychic tendencies and will gain through secret enemies but misfortune in marriage and love affairs. If in Gemini, Libra or Aquarius the native is extravagant but reputed in his own society. Misfortune through relatives and in travel; separation and ill-health. In Cancer, Scorpio or Pisces makes the native carefree, political confinement, philanthropic, warrior. He will have love for occult readings, long journey and spiritualism and will face a tragic end.”

BPHS 4th lord in the 12th house: “The native will be devoid of domestic or other comforts, will have vices and be foolish and indolent. He will leave his local area to go live in some other city of country.”
B.V. Raman 4th lord in the 12th house: “Deprived of happiness and properties. Early death to mother, bad finances and generally a miserable existence.” Kuhu Yoga: 4th lord in the 6th, 8th or 12th house: “The native will be bereft of mother, conveyances, friends, happiness, ornaments, relations. The person will be unemployed and without a place of living having lost the one owned by him or her associating with low people of the opposite sex.”

Often called the “First Lady of Song”, “Lady Ella,” or the “Queen of Jazz,” she was celebrated for her flawless pitch, extraordinary vocal range, impeccable timing, and unmatched ability to improvise through scat singing. She got her big break in 1934 when she entered an amateur night contest and won. Her first major hit was “A-Tisket, A-Tasket” (1938). Over nearly six decades she recorded more than 2,000 songs, sold over 40 million records and won 13 Grammy Awards working with pretty much every jazz musician of the era. She became especially famous for her Songbook albums, which interpreted the works of great American composers. She had crystal-clear diction, nearly perfect intonation, a vocal range of about three octaves, effortless swing and rhythmic precision and the ability to improvise long, intricate scat solos that rivaled instrumental jazz musicians. In 1947 she married, adopted a child and divorced (amicably) after a couple years. She continued touring into the late 1980s despite declining health. Diabetes eventually led to the amputation of both legs, and she died on June 15, 1996, at age 79.
