Life’s Journey from Heaven to Hell & Back Again

Leo is the truth. As children, we come into this life though Leo: Sat chid ananda all come together and a king is born; a sovereign being, lord and master over all. We all have this potential, this part of us is always functioning. But just start telling people what to do, as if you really are lord and master, and see what happens. Your actually mastery will be quickly measured.

In any case, the light shines down from Leo, but from there it’s all down hill. The questioning, some response from the first sovereign activity, a problem, a duality, a split; Virgo. We may be sovereign, but we are not alone. This make a big problem for our sense of certainty, or truth. Those doubts will always drag us down. At this point there can be no judgement of value of the upward or downward course of life; it’s just the course we happen to be on.

And there is really nothing else we can do with this great other except learn to get along with it and eventually compromise some of your own truth, your own self so that everyone can be happy. But nobody really wants to compromise . It’s like an epic wrestling energetic match between one’s Self and the Other. Grappling with duality, with not being alone in this universe, you can’t just ignore it and nobody is served by constant battle so an agreement has to be reached. And if the agreement is not in good faith or the terms of imbalanced it’s not likely to last. And we cannot defeat this other without also destroying ourselves.

We worry about giving up some part of ourselves, even if it is for a peaceful coexistence. But in an odd way, when each person gives 25% or our resources, they double. To have someone to trust, someone who has your back, can mean a lot.

As we move into Scorpio, we will find out if an equilibrium was actually struck in Libra, the value of that agreement. They mystical 25% bonus for now having a hidden source of security is realised if both people are indeed trust worthy.

Having travelled downward from Leo, one comes to the mouth of a cave looming like a haunted house, the mysteries of the darkness await; the fear of an unknown future palatable.

But the hero moves on through Scorpio and into Mula when he is far from the light and there is nothing left. One cannot see the light or even one’s own self, but there is knowledge of the truth that we still carry like flash light, like a compass; but you will soon find out the power of the bulb and the charge of batteries. In a sense, this is the matter you started collecting since encountering the first problem in Virgo. Sagittarius represents the hope and optimism as you set out on the way, hoping you packed the right stuff and your teachers told you the correct way. Sagittarius is just directions, it’s not a map like Gemini provides (and since we started with the truth in Leo, we don’t have a map yet).

In any case, we get to Capricorn and Saturn puts all that to the test: our sense of direction, the inner power that we have changed our batteries with, the kind of relationship we have developed with things, with the other generally; the alliances we’ve made, our ability to deal with problems, and of course that original truth that we started with. If you started at the truth, Capricorn really sucks because there is nothing like cold hard reality to challenge your so called truths. If you start in Capricorn the bright light of truth will transform you, but you will have to make the journey from here. From here in Capricorn where everything you have is being worn down, where you are asked to give up your Great Self, your own truth and light and sovereignty; to give up your titles and be fully governed by the other. And even if one remains a great king he will learn to be a servant of the people, or, as we say today, a public servant.

It seems to me that we hit bottom in Aquarius. With everything rolling down to the bottom in begins to accumulate in Dhanishta creating and upward force, also from heat like the coals even under all the ash, under all this earth, the fires of hell, the smoky master of the world of darkness, the witch or the dark magician who, far from truth, must none the lest take the time to oppose it with the lie, with facts here on this ground, with numbers and repetition.

As the Leo native, the truth, moves through Aquarius, there is no more truth, no more authenticity or sovereignty. But the power that runs through the network ultimately comes from the king, the sovereign, the bright idea; even though there is no longer any trace of this in Satabhsha. Just those shadows on the wall of Plato’s cave; but the smoke is going upwards, the air is moving, and as we come through Purva Bhadrapada we start seeing a glimmer of light, but the only way out seems to be a deal with the devil and everything around you is trying to hold you down. Like a captive or a slave whose only way out seems to be that he must kill a guard, some other to escape, but until ones own self is fully dead, one will remain a slave to those dark forces.

Does time actually go slow, or just seem to go slow when we are going through hell, when we are in a repeat cycle and we cannot get out of it. A sameness; and ennui. When Saturn is done with us, when we have fully surrendered, he gives us moksha, allows us to see the distance shore. But one needs a strong network to make this crossing, the masses have to advocate for you, you have to be elected to move on. There is no appointment of position in Aquarius. Even the brightest idea will fizzle out if no one elects to follow it.

If your truth, your original idea, your sovereignty gets past Revati, it means it’s has completely dissolved into the ocean on consciousness like the first spoon, it’s becomes like an archetype in the collective consciousness, a small boat in a large ocean. But one is out in the light again and beginning to see. Truth, like a dream can be felt; the warmth of the sunlight. Being stripped of most of the baggage by now, one pauses in Bharani, perhaps to see what there is still left of value after the perilous journey through the under-ground.

We are becoming established in the Self through Aries, gathering ourselves up, putting ourselves back together again, and by Krittika we will again be halfway between heaven and hell, but again ready to change onward and upwards through the fields and over the the hills to the great mountain, shrouded by clouds will be the truth.

But for now, as our great sovereign gets closer to his home in Leo, he will have to pass through Taurus and Leo where he must recollect the journey, try to recreate the adventure for others, put something away for later. There starts forming a sense of value and values. A sense of self worth based on everything you’ve done and accomplished and held onto. I think for the Leo native, the life’s course through Taurus shows a person the really true value of everything they gave up in Libra & Scorpio. That death of the spirit and compost of the particulars that started in Scorpio, sunk to a bottom in Satabhisha is fully risen again in Taurus the fruit of the delicate balance between nature and nurture reaching for the light. And there is a lightness here despite the typical heft of a Taurus native; the jovial Brihaspati.

Mrigashirsa is also famed for it’s gentle nature despite the Mars nature. Through Aries, we are alone. I think for the Leo native Aries is about just picking direction, taking some sovereign action and doing something for oneself again. But a kings, main job is Taurus, 10th from Leo. A king must provide and he must have wealth. The power of any king is measured by his wealth; it’s the primary thing a king will be known for.

But wealth alone is not enough, a king must be able to inspire others, work with others, coordinate and communicate with others, and make sure everyone is one the same page.

Once all that is accomplished, the Leo comes home again and lets go of the whole journey and quest for truth. They are no longer telling boastful stories, nor even crafting them into a narrative to get what they want. By the time our Leo sovereign or his bright original ideas gets to Cancer its as common as a household utensil and one will have to sit in Cancer until some new need or necessity arises and a new idea is again realised or a new king in once again born.

Prologue:

You can see how I essentially see the main axis of truth & darkness running from Leo to Aquarius; Magha to Shatabhisha. This is a pure axis with fully entitled empowerment on one side and full enslavement on the other side; the masses of wage slaves without power, entitlement, originality or authenticity. The one that mater vs the billions who don’t. The trick is that these two energetic entities have to find a balance with each other. They both have to compromise and ultimately, the more each other them give to the other the more they both receive. The dividends of peace being much higher than the sum of what each party actually brings to the table. The King has to give the people power, and be someone worth emulating, copying, following in his footsteps (the poor Shravana native, so poor in spirit he only knows to follow the existing paths. When he finally breaks out and expresses himself it will be a great moment in transformation, a meeting of his own heart. For the Shravana Capricorn native, just a moment of self expression, (much of what we might today call art therapy) can be a whole revelation of the spirit for a Capricorn native. “I was lost, but now I’m found.” The light shines like it did for Ebenezer and they start to come back to themselves again, but as whole person, fully integrated.

We go through this cycle in small ways and big ways; fast and slow; coming back to ourselves and moving away; coming to the truth, to heaven, and then going back to hell. Sometimes we get what we want, sometimes we get what we deserve, When things are at their worse they can only get better and when life is best, we know everything is going to turn to shit. What to do Kathmandu?

If I wasn’t an astrologer trying to promote business, might suggest we try to realise ourselves as something more than the sum of our karma. This may be a 9th house Sagittarius realisation or perhaps a Pisces thing, none-the-less we have to step beyond our astrology chart.

Karma is very rational, linear; sure it moves in cycles, but it’s cycles of creation, maintenance and destruction (basically creation and destruction with some time & space filling in the gap between the two. Yes, Vishnu is all that & more). It’s a frame of reference that pits time & space against each other.

Scripture tells us time and time again that we must purify our senses and our mind so we are at least prepared to see the truth if it should so happen to appear before us. And this is no simple preparation. We have to go through the whole cycle at every level of our being. Rahu & Ketu have to cycle backwards 2.5 times: age 48 before we fully integrate our shadow sides.

Being integrated means you have experienced and touched and worked your way through everything that life throws at you. Being integrated means you didn’t let yourself get stuck. It doesn’t matter the reason, part of being integrated means that at some point we will have to tap into every resource and area of life to move forward at some point. The day will come when you have to act alone, without help; but another day will come when you have to ask for help. Sometimes you express your self, other times you keep your moth shut and listen. Being integrated means you know to take the right action at the right time in any situation because you’ve integrated the whole possibility of what the universe has to offer into one being.

A quest of 12 or 27 gates that must be crossed, each of them its own unique puzzle. To move beyond the karma we have to find the most sattvic solution to each problem. Of course we can just kill the guard and move on, but that will cause big problems later on, eventually leading to your annihilation and the kind of hell loop that keep bringing you to the place until you figure out a new solution. I suspect something like psychoanalysis, secret tantric methods to be rajasic techniques that bring awareness to the tamasic nature and takes the person back to the root (heart) of the problem so that more sattvic, or at least upward moving rajasic tendencies and choices can be fostered to truly integrate each realm of possibility into this one entity we call the Self.

Until we are fully integrated, we are slaves to the whims of the upward and downward moving spirals of karma. Sure, we can step off any time, into he centre where there is peace while all the change swirls around us. But if we are not prepared, if we step off in the wrong place, we will go mad; who can handle the truth? It will be given to everyone at some point so it’s best to be prepared.

How does one prepare for the truth? By making sure their house is clean, by removing imperfections of health and lifestyle and character; home, family, society. By living up to your own highest ideals. And by keeping one eye on that truth all the way through; knowing there is something so much greater than self and other, more than everything we can see or sense or measure; something so much greater than this moment even if this moment is the most precious gift you can imagine. Greatness has no limit.

Hell has limits though, if you’re falling, you’re gonna hit bottom, every moment is life or death and you’re just waiting for that final conclusion, wondering if you’re gonna land with a splat or if you still have some power to turn things around again. But heaven is just soaring free with no boundaries, fully aware of everything but unaffected by anything.

So go to heaven; go to hell; go go go. Or transcend heaven or hell and find the peace within the storm, and the chaos within the stillness. Don’t just open your eye’s and see whats in front of you, open your mind and see what lies beneath the surface, open your spirit and you will see and feel and know what is the same in that other, non-dual awareness, open, naked, vulnerable, oh so alive; truth and beauty as one.
