With the Sun in Ashwini in the second house, their hair shines beautifully and they retain a youthful essence, radiating warmth and confidence. They are natural truth-sayers, answering calls of distress and acting as voices for rescue. They might speak openly about their own hard times or the deep-seated imbalances in society, delivering relatively hard, direct truths. Yet, they possess a unique ability to make light of these heavy realities, adopting a playful, youthful delivery—all the more so if Mercury is involved. While other planetary influences ultimately determine how seriously society takes them, they are invariably seen as a voice of authority on the matter; the only one willing to tell the truth.

Because of this solar transparency, they find it nearly impossible to hide anything. Their heart is worn firmly on their sleeve, and the truth shows instantly on their face. However, it is not always a comfortable truth; after all, there is a strong probability of malefic influence on this Sun, given that it is the ruler of the 6th house entering the 2nd. The Mercury conjunction highlights speech as the ultimate vehicle for the intellect, providing these natives with a rigorous foundation in language and grammar, which they come to understand as the very bedrock of our reality. They are not merely powerful lecturers, speakers, or orators; their razor-sharp intelligence is further honed through sharp dialogue, opposition, and forceful negotiation. Much of their philosophy develops as a direct combat response to other philosophers—whether past, present, or future. Kant was responding to Hume; Wittgenstein was dismantling the mainstream Western philosophical tradition; and Lakshmanjoo was reacting oppositionally to a Western philosophical tradition (and an orthodox priesthood) so caught up in abstract ideas that they forgot they were walking the earth. For these natives, thoughts are not ephemeral concepts; they are living deities seeking to complete their works on Earth.

The Price of Certainty: Restlessness and Non-Marriage

Here, the Pisces theme of dissolution is expressed through critical analysis (Mercury in Aries) and forceful assertion (Sun in Aries). All three of these thinkers completely deconstructed whatever intellectual frameworks came before them, creating a completely new base, a fresh lineage, and a total reset of philosophical tradition. They boldly explored the limits of human cognition and the tense juncture between mysticism and conceptual reality.
Yet, neither of these planets is particularly comfortable for a Pisces Ascendant. While we may appreciate their monumental intellectual output, the internal effect was one of immense tension between directly perceived certainty (Sun in Aries) and analytical doubt or persistent questioning (Mercury). This produces a restless, hyper-critical mind that is constantly revising its own ideas, like a knife being methodically slid across a wet stone. They all struggled with how to describe the indescribable: as Pisces natives, they intimately experienced the infinite, but the Sun-Mercury conjunction insisted they must be able to talk about it, resulting in a deep-seated inner frustration.

Notably, these men possessed massive vocabularies and actively permanently altered our lexicon. Kant gave us Noumenon, phenomenon, and the categorical imperative. Lakshmanjoo articulated Spanda, Pratyabhijñā, and Śiva-tattva. Their very identity, expressed through the solar principle, was inextricably tied to speech, teaching, and ideas.

Aside from the philosophical brilliance, this combination is notoriously unfavorable for marriage; none of these philosophical examples ever married. Wittgenstein was attracted to men and endured a few intense, turbulent relationships, but spent most of his life in isolation. Lakshmanjoo was a strict brahmacharya guru, wholly focused on his spiritual children, with no documented relationships. Kant contemplated marriage a couple of times in his youth, but delayed the decision for so long that both women eventually married other men.

They were all vastly more focused on their intellectual and spiritual legacy than on personal relationships. To some degree, these Pisces natives—though in a state of spiritual dissolution—are far more locked onto things and concepts (2nd house) than they are on partnerships (7th house). They are consumed by the perception of being a subject experiencing a world of objects, trying to decode that relationship. Furthermore, an exalted Sun naturally breeds a fierce, unyielding independence.

Each of these men avoided marriage for slightly different astrological expressions of this cluster. The Mercury-Sun conjunction made Kant paralyzed by indecision, as Mercury endlessly questioned and analyzed every choice. While the Sun typically represents the absolute stillness of mental vibration, Mercury continuously disturbs this peace. Wittgenstein was even more emotionally conflicted, with nearly every planet in his chart aspecting his Sun, preventing him from ever arriving at a sense of true certainty or decisiveness. Lakshmanjoo, trained as a scholar-saint from early childhood, never exhibited any interest in marriage, leaving behind a pristine legacy devoid of any impropriety. He was widely known to be warm, playful, and emotionally open, developing deeply close personal relationships with his students, while remaining stern and corrective whenever necessary to ensure they stayed on the path.”

She was one of the greatest singers in the history of jazz and popular music. Often called the “First Lady of Song”, “Lady Ella,” or the “Queen of Jazz,” she was celebrated for her flawless pitch, extraordinary vocal range, impeccable timing, and unmatched ability to improvise through scat singing. She got her big break in 1934 when she entered an amateur night contest and won. Her first major hit was “A-Tisket, A-Tasket” (1938). Over nearly six decades she recorded more than 2,000 songs, sold over 40 million records and won 13 Grammy Awards working with pretty much every jazz musician of the era. She became especially famous for her Songbook albums, which interpreted the works of great American composers. She had crystal-clear diction, nearly perfect intonation, a vocal range of about three octaves, effortless swing and rhythmic precision and the ability to improvise long, intricate scat solos that rivaled instrumental jazz musicians. In 1947 she married, adopted a child and divorced (amicably) after a couple years. She continued touring into the late 1980s despite declining health. Diabetes eventually led to the amputation of both legs, and she died on June 15, 1996, at age 79.
Her mother, Temperance, work various low paying jobs catering and working in a laundromat and catering. Ella’s father (a delivery driver) left early and her mother got into a long term relationship with a Portuguese immigrant and had another daughter with him. In 1932, when Ella was 15 years old, Temperance was in a car accident and died. Her step father died from a heart attack shortly after. Ella left school, lived on the streets, was sent to reform school where she was abused and ran away.

His father was one of the richest industrialists in Europe at the time (steel magnate in Austria-Hungary). Extremely dominant, perfectionistic, and authoritarian personality. Ran both his business and household with intense discipline and high expectations. Family environment was culturally elite (music, arts, intellectual salons), but emotionally pressured. Several of Ludwig’s brothers died by suicide, often attributed partly to the psychological climate of the household. Karl intended Ludwig to enter industry; Ludwig rejected this path and pursued philosophy.
Logic, philosophy of mathematics, the mind, language. The last philosopher to treat truth as a moral absolute; after him, philosophy fragments into language games, analytics, pragmatics. Immense inherited wealth; an unbearable sense of responsibility; a need to withdraw that is constantly blocked by recognition.
Sun Mahadasha 1946 – 1952: Just as he should have been hitting a career peak, he was pulling away for institutional teaching preferring to take odd job and work as a primary school teacher in a small town. He was signed with prostate cancer in this period and dies in 1951.

He was born into a Jewish intellectual family. Not much is known about his father. Adler later converted to Christianity after encounters with Jungian psychology. Nazi persecution forced his emigration from Germany.

An unique character of western philosophy. More religious than the Church; one of the greatest philosophers of western thought. He was confident in himself & confident in his words. He radiated light of one who is without doubt. His father was a harness and leather craftsman, deeply religious, Pietist, a strict moralist, but honest, gentle and disciplines. Kant both respected and admired his father.
Kant’s philosophy reflects Ashwini in its insistence on immediacy, first principles, and the sovereignty of inner law. Ashwini acts before interpretation; Kant grounds morality in the categorical imperative, an internal command that does not come from society, desire, or circumstance. This is exactly how Ashwini understands action: a pure, unmediated impulse of dharma that arises from within. Ashwini operates from the source, not from consequence, and Kant’s ethics intentionally rejects consequence as a basis for moral evaluation. His entire moral system is an Ashwinic demand for purity of intent, stripped of emotion, reward, fear, or social influence. The swift decisiveness of Ashwini becomes Kant’s insistence that moral law must be universal, immediate, and binding—no hesitation, no calculation, no negotiation. His famous distinction between acting from duty rather than merely in accordance with duty mirrors the Ashwini insistence that true action must arise from the core impulse of the self, not from external conformity.
Kant’s epistemology also reflects Ashwini’s nature as the first nakshatra, the “starting spark” of cognition. Ashwini looks directly at a thing without being distracted by its appearances or social layers; in the Critique of Pure Reason, Kant divides reality into noumena (what is) and phenomena (what appears). This distinction is the intellectual form of Ashwini’s instinct to cut straight to the underlying truth, separating it from the world of impressions, desires, and projections. Ashwini is surgical, fast, and uninterested in ambiguity, and Kant’s philosophy follows this rhythm: he imposes sharp boundaries everywhere—reason vs. understanding, freedom vs. nature, moral law vs. inclination. His system is built out of strict internal lines, categorical separations, and decisive conceptual cuts, all of which resemble the Mars-ruled clarity of Ashwini’s temperament.
Kant’s view of freedom is another Ashwini hallmark. Ashwini is the nakshatra of the healer and the rescuer, but it is also the nakshatra of pure autonomy—the horse that refuses to be broken. Kant’s foundational claim that freedom is not permission but self-legislation reflects Ashwini’s independence perfectly. The true self, for both Kant and Ashwini, is the one that obeys a law it gives itself. This is why Kant rejects both religious command and social custom as legitimate moral foundations. Ashwini does not follow outer rules; it follows its inner fire. Kant intellectualizes this into the structure of rational autonomy, but the energetic logic is the same: freedom means being governed by your own inner dharma, not by external pressures or emotional impulses.
Even Kant’s tone matches Ashwini. His philosophy is abrupt, uncompromising, and morally severe. There is no softness in his writing, no compromise with emotion, no gradual path to moral growth; there is only the stark command: Do what is right because it is right. This resembles the Ashwini style of acting because the action itself is necessary, not because it is pleasant or advantageous. Kant’s distrust of emotion, inclination, and sentiment aligns with Ashwini’s Vata-Pitta impulse to move cleanly and quickly, unencumbered by the heaviness of desire or fear. His insistence that dignity arises from rational agency—not from birth, status, or achievement—echoes Ashwini’s archetype of the divine twins who heal, restore, and act simply because the inner law demands it, not because the world approves.
Taken together, Kant’s system reads like the intellectual expression of Ashwini’s dharmic instinct: fast in its conceptual structure, sharp in its boundaries, internally generated in its authority, and morally absolute in its demands. Where other philosophers wander, nuance, or defer, Kant cuts a straight line. This is the same movement Ashwini makes in the body: a clean impulse, pure direction, a motion that arises from within and takes no instruction from circumstance. Kant is not an airy mystic or a lyrical thinker; he is a warrior of reason, a legislator of internal law, and a builder of moral architecture that stands independent of the world’s shifting appearances. In that sense, his philosophy reflects Ashwini’s deepest qualities more faithfully than almost any other Western thinker.

He has given generously to theatre and the arts, served on the board of a human origins project for over 25 years, paid for the Smithsonian institute to install a dinosaur exhibit.
