Key Themes
Uttara Bhadrapada is the deep collective unconscious, the great ocean. It’s the plug in the bottom of the tub connected to a chain. This is the life line, the umbilical cord that connects heaven and earth. The duality of this nakshatra is best described through Jupiters nature as both the fat on the body and the ether. Jupiter’s extremes: the bottom of the ocean where the great squid live and deep space where squid like aliens live. There are certainly some hidden Ketu qualities to this nakshatra. The greatest danger of this nakshatra is that they can become so disconnected from reality that they cannot come back. No matter how for out they go, it’s important for them to maintain some kind of life. But even this can end up as a co-dependent relationship. It can still be a very desire driven nakshatra like Purva, but that feeling of immanence is not there. It’s almost like Rahu & Ketu are sitting next to each other at the family table taunting the prince, the patron, and the handyman from across the table.
The double dose of Jupiter and their escapist tendencies can be quite indulgent. Dream drugs are their favourite but the whole atmosphere is the blurry cloudy vision of a drunk or drug addict. And it can be very fixed, heavy, stuck. Saturn here can feel like a ship dragging anchor, while Mars finds its more etheric qualities and can become highly combustable and flammable like a pool of gasoline or a propane cloud that catching at once. Perhaps this just another manifestation of the qualities of escape and getting away that relate with this position. With Mars, the fire gets away from us here. We might then think of the life line as safety equipment.
They often have lots of stuff, something for everything, safety kits, life preservers, naloxin (I think is what we’re supposed to give our junkies these days. Those folk know all about being out of it; out of reach, out of touch, just gone somewhere. Karuna, the son of the Sun in Mahabharata, was born under this asterism. He’s the one who went away for so long that he started identifying with the enemy, he lost himself, and found himself anew with the Kaurava enemies of his family who treated him better than his own family.
I’ve seen lots of underground activity with this position: geologists, archaeologists, deep sea divers having Jules Vern type adventures. Real and fictional space is represented here; lots of science fiction and imagination of course. Willian Shatner and Wernher von Braun both have this. Even Bruce Willis has played in some space movies.
The lapping of the waves can be heard here; the steady repetitive rhythm, pulsation of the universal metronome can be heard here. If it’s not nature making the sound for them, then they might be getting into the zone through repetitive actions. Good for repetitive recitation like “om” chanting. Sports stars and musicians get into in their game, in their practice. Basketball, soccer, tabla these kinds of physical activities where they are able to rise beyond themselves, beyond what is even possible on the human plain. They are like gods, performing manoeuvres the rest of us can only dream of. All that practice and repetition allows them to bust out the most incredible moves when needed. All the replays they run of these moves might relate here as well. If this is the case, this might also be the point of dying where we relive our whole life. On the other side of that coin, in might be the moment at the beginning were we download all our potential; the whole massive pool of opportunity that awaits us.
- Waves: Hook
- The great sea monster becomes a block chain thru bitcoin, it can be trains or chains, worms or snakes, or the umbilical cord, cords, string and wires.
- The chains which hold her around the waist represents the umbilical cord
- Sexual Abuse: Frost, Anonymous (abuse by father), Louis XVII (Spent most of his ten years in life in prison being tortured, his parents went to the guillotine, he was likely poisoned at age 10), Anonymous 2 (high class prostitute, madam, went to jail for owning an escort service), Harvey Weinstein,
- Counter culture. Though they might still be “mainstream”
Qualities of Uttara Bhadrapada
Vishnu – Sustaining, Maintaining, Organising principle: Focus is to maintain order in the universe, in society and life. Their focus is to maintain what is here and keep things going. It primarily does this through organisation of the available resources.
Kshatriya: Warrior caste likes battle, leadership, politics, war and sports. Competitive challenging activities that build heat.
Human: The clan of humans are neither gods nor demons, just your average people reaching for something more but finding themselves all too human.
Balanced: Here we find the balanced approach. Allows free will and fate to meet in the middle. But sometimes even balance can come at the cost of rigidity.
Dhruva – Fixed: This is a good nakshatra for beginning anything you want to be durable. Ceremonies, weddings, coronations, starting a new job, opening a business, moving into a new home or any one of the 16 samskaras. Construction projects or laying any kind of literal or figurative foundation can begin on this day. Sundays carry this kind of energy suggesting that it’s also a good position for any kind of spiritual practice that you want to be a fixed routine. Rohini, U. Phalguni, U. Ashadha, U. Bhadra are also fixed.
Kama: They are motivated to fulfil their hopes & desires; to enjoy life and love, making friends and social connections, and to indulge in the pleasures of life. Planets that have some natural social talent will do well here while the others will show their awkwardness for easy enjoyment.
Space: Space has the qualities of being fully pervasive, stable, subtle, and light. Space cooperates with all elements; it’s provides space for the others to do their thing.
Pitta: Organs or bodily systems represented by planets may suffer from a pitta imbalance. If it’s one’s ascendant lord it may be oneself. If it’s Venus it’ maybe one’s sister or wife who is a bit fiery, bladder and kidney’s might be susceptible to inflammation. Pitta is a blend of fire & water; it’s hot, oily, light, sharp, rough. It causes a person to be vibrant, successful, aggressive. Pitta is disturbed by sour (Venus) & pungent (Sun). It’s pacified by bitter (Mars) & sweet (Jupiter).
Tamasic: Activities take part on the gross physical plane: dark, depressed, dull, inert activities that obscure reality and keep us in the dark. Some kind of gross suffering is usually felt here and there’s a lazy sort of laissez-faire sort of laziness of lethargy. The energy here typically pulls a person down as it represents neither change nor purity. There is typically some suffering and darkness of mind experienced here. Tamasic has no nutrients and the prana is not moving; it’s stale or dead energy.
Male:Masculine planets and energies might work better here. If the 5th lord is here there is greater likelihood of having male children. The same can be applied to any plant or ruler placed here.
North: Uttara Bhadrapada is more likely to give results in the northerly direction. Wealth planets here can bring wealth from the north. Spiritual planets will bring you north for pilgrimage, retreat, or spiritual study.
Urdhva Mukha – Facing Upward: All these things that cause us to look upwards: mountains, church spires, temples, trees, birds, high places, and tall buildings. The intention might also be in building upwards or climbing the corporate ladder, or just looking to the future with hope and optimism. This can also be a good day for climbing ladders, flying in airplanes, launching rockets or missiles or investing, and all other things that will move you up the social ladder. Sun, Moon & Jupiter generally do well in the upward-facing nakshatras: Rohini, Ardra, Pushya, U.Phalguni, U.Ashadha, Sravana, Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, U.Bhadrapada.
Sage Pulaha
Married Daksha’s daughter Kshama and had three sons; Kardama, Kanakapeetha, Urvarivat; and a daughter Peevari. He had three more sons with his granddaughter, Gati: Karmasreshtta, Vareeyamsu, Sahishnu. Helped create the wildlife as well as many of the mythical beasts, including butterflies, lion, wolves and lambs. Since his children were so poorly behaved, he adopted Agastya’s son, Drdhasyu. He practiced intense devotion to Lord Shiva on the banks of the Alaknanda river (the source of the Ganges). He was involved with talking Sage Parashara out of killing all the Rakshasas. When King Bharata renounced his kingdom he went to Sage Pulaha’s ashram for refuge. He had knowledge of theatre and drama.
It’s said that one of his sons, Kardama, was granted two boons by Lord Vishnu: The first was that he get a good wife, and he soon married Devahuti. The second was to have a son who is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and Kapila was soon born. His nine daughters all married great sages: Anasuya (wife of sage Atri), Arundhat (wife of sage Vasistha) & Khyati (wife of sage Bhrigu), Gati (2nd wife of sage Pulaha, according to Bhagavata Purana). After their householder duties were complete, Devahuti went to study with her son, Sage Kapila, from whom she learned Sankhya philosophy. Kapila is identified with Agni and is known to have reduced sixty thousand sons of king Sagara to ash with a glance. Kapila is usually shown with jatamukha (jata crown), a beard, and four arms (two holding a pitcher, one holding a shakha and another with a chakra). According to Siva Purana, a Sage named Kardama was born from Brahma’s shadow to be an aspirant, but this may be a different Karadama. The word, ‘kardama’ means: mud, muck, dirty, and is sometimes used to refer to sin. Adi Parva describes him as a virtuous serpent and the grandson of Viraja. It’s said that Kardama was so pleased with his wife that he gave her an airplane with which they travelled the world.
His adopted son, Drdhasyu, was a master of scripture from birth as he memorised them from his mother’s womb. He learned stick combat and martial arts from Lord Murgan, and he was also known as Idhmavaha for his ability to carry huge loads of wood from the forest. ‘Idhma’ refers to tinder that is ready to be burned (the perfect student).
Mango Tree
A member of the cashew family. Indigenous to South Asia, especially Myanmar, Assam, India. Mango is rich in vitamins A, C & D. The tree can grow to 40 meters and live and produce for up to 300 years. The dry season is necessary for complete fruit production as humidity will allow a jungle disease to destroy the flowers and fruit. The fruit is harvested in the spring, late into the dry season. In south India Harvest starts in March; it ends in the North in May.
Mango trees are the abode of the Gods. Their leaves are commonly used to decorate home and temple on auspicious occasions. There are over 1500 varieties of Mango. Ashoka planted many banyan and Mongos along the Imperial road ways. The sweetness of the mango is a favourite of poets and kings. The Mughals were great patrons of horticulture and they planted sever large mango plantations. They are commonly used in Saraswati pujas and the leaves are plentiful for the children learning crafts. Mango’s are commonly preserved as achaar, Indian pickles. The ripeness of the mango is often taken into account when considering the medicinal properties of the fruit.
Benefits of the fruit: Rich in iron, and the vitamin C in the mango helps us to absorb the iron. Low iron is related with anaemia. Mango can be good for digestion with its of fibre and cool digestive effect to low inflammation. Eating mango’s and drinking milk is a common tonic to help people gain weight in a nourishing way. A good tonic for malnourishment. Vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, folate, zinc and vitamin B6 help boost the immune system. The same carotenoids that make carrots famous for improving eyesight are also abundantly available in Mangos. This is the enzyme that gives it a yellow/orange colour. Selenium & B6 are good for the heart. Mangiferin has anti-cancer & antioxidant properties.
Benefits of the leaves: An extract from the leaves is used to treat high blood pressure and hypertension. Drinking tea made of these leaves regularly can reduce blood pressure. A juice can be made from the freshest and tenderest leaves that are still pink or purple that will control diabetes. These young leaves are rich in tannins and anthocyanins. On the other hand, the old, almost decaying leaves can be boiled until the water turns yellow; this can be used to rinse the mouth and correct gum problems. Leaves can also be soaked overnight and the water from that drank first thing in the morning to cleans the stomach and flush out toxins.
The bark from the mango tree can be dried and powdered to relieve diarrhoea. The gum from the bark can be applied to cracked feet or treat scabies. The juice that oozes from the branch after plucking a mango can be applied to bee stings. A butter is made from the seeds to sooth Sun burns, treat stretch marks, heal scars, reduce wrinkles, moisturise hair. An extract from the seed can be consumed to loose weight.
It should be notes that the oils of mango leaves, stems, sap & skin can be an allergen for some people; even causing anaphylactic shock. Those who have had contact with poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumac may be most at risk. Touching the plant can cause dermatitis and even before the flower pollen becomes airborne the plant can cause an allergic reaction believes to be from the evaporating oils.
The mango is a national fruit of Bangladesh

Lunar Month of Bhadrapada
August – September
In north India, the monsoon has come to an end, the crops are full, the calves are learning, the children playing. It’s still hot, but the heat and the water in the rivers is all on the decrease. The dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) of Bhadrapada is reserved for the veneration of the dead. This period is known as Pitru Paksha. Every day they give honour to a different category of person from the past. The Vaishnava’s believe that Hrishikesh governs this month.
Krishna Janmashtami: Sometimes called Raslila, a day of play. Celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna on the 8th day of the dark fortnight (Krishna paksha). Stories, plays, music and dance to glorify Lord Krishna. After Krishna’s midnight hour birth, forms of baby Krishna are bathed and clothed, then placed in a cradle. The devotees then break their fast by sharing food and sweets. Women draw tiny footprints outside their house doors and kitchen, walking towards their house, a symbolism for Krishna’s journey into their homes.
Aja Ekadasi:
Dahi Handi: Community event still celebrating lord Krishna. But this is a day of community fun rather than temples that come with most calendar events. On this day they hand curd from a pole and the young people have to build a human pyramid, or find some other ingenious way to get (or break) the curd pot. Just like cheek young Krishna.
Gayatri Japa: Also known as Gayatri Japa Sankalpam. This is a very auspicious day to chant Gayatri Mantra. This is especially important for those who wear the sacred thread (Brahmins). As a mantra for the Sun it’s not uncommon to recite it 108 or 1008 times morning, noon and sun set. Excellent day for anyone who wants to begin a daily practice of Gayatri.
Hartalika Teen: Celebrated the day before Ganesha Chaturthi
Ganesha Chaturthi: 10 day festival marking the birth day of Lord Ganesha. It begins on the 4th day of the month of Bhadrapada. On the first day of the festival they do a ritual to put spirit into the Idol and then pat tribute in 16 different ways. They read hymns from Ganesha Upanishad, offer sandalwood, red & yellow flowers. Ganesha is also offered Jaggery, coconut and 21 laddoo. On the last day of the festival, Ganesha Visarjan, the idol is immersed in the water to signify his journey back home to Mount Kailas.
Rishi Panchali: On the 2nd day of Ganesha Chaturthi the seven great Rishi’s a worshiped: Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadvaja, Vishvamitra, Gautama Maharishi, Jamadagni, and Vashishtha. Vashishtha’s wife Arundhati. Betel leaf, flowers, camphor, and a lamp are used for worship. It’s common for the women to fast. As the story goes, the widowed daughter of a Brahmin man was covered in ants so her parents called one of the great Rishis
Radha Ashtami: Krishna devotees celebrate Radha’s birthday 14 days after Krishna’s; the 8th day of Shukla Paksha. Three popular mantra’s for the day are 1. Aum Vrashbahnujaye Vidmahe, Krishnapriyaye Dheemahi Tanno Radha Prachodaya and 2. Radhe Radha
Parsva Ekadasi: This is one of the best fasting days of the year. This is the day Lord Vishnu rolls over to his other side. Yudhishthira then asked him about his sleeping a rolling over. Vishnu narrates the time he took on the avatar of Vamana to win back the heavens for Lord Indra even though Bali had worshiped the Gods and honoured the Brahmins. Vishnu will sleep from Parsva Ekadasi occurring on the light part of Bhadrapada until Haribodhinii Ekadasi during the light part of the month of Karttika. Observing this Ekadasi is said to be as powerful as 1000 horse sacrifices. One typically fasts till noon and they celebrates. They do the same on the following day which is said to the when Vishnu actually mad this form, Vamadev, known.
Ganesha Visarjan: The last day of Ganesha Chaturthi. A clay Idol of Ganesha is immersed in water to symbolise the immersion of the individual soul in the universal ocean. The whole festival represents the conga and going within the cycle of life. Some say that the Idol of god dissolves with time, but the essence of God remain imperishable.
Vamana Jayanti: This festival is dedicated to Vishnu’s incarnation as Vamana. The stories of Vamana are celebrated and Lord Vishnu is honoured with light, recitation of the Vishnu Sathasranam.
Mahalakshmi Vrat (vow or observance): Begins four days after Ganesha Chaturthi and continues for 16 days. All the eight forms of Mahalakshmi are worshipped. Yudhisthira asked Lord Krishna how to regain their lost kingdom and all they had lost through gambling. Lord Krishna advised them to follow the Mahalakshmi Vrat to regain all kinds of lost wealth.
Anant Chaturdashi: Worship of Lord Vishnu in Ananta (Shesha) form on the 14th day of Shukla paksha. This will free us from our sins. See the story of Ananta below. The Jains ask forgiveness for their sin whether made intentionally or not.
Durva Ashtami: Durva grass is worshipped with flowers, fruits, rice, incense sticks, curd and other essential puja items. Shiva and Ganesha are also worshiped. It’s mainly observed by women to bring long life and prosperity for their children.
Auspicious Activities
Muhurtha – Electional Astrology
Fixed nakshatras are good for building homes or setting foundations. It’s a good time to move into a new home, start a new job, or begin any kind of community project that you want to remain fixed, stable, moving. It’s a favourable nakshatra for marriage, installing a deity in the temple or beginning spiritual practices. Medical treatments can go well as can any kind studies. The results of anything begun under Uttara Bhadrapada will be long lasting so be careful about experimenting with bad habits and or not taking life seriously on this day.
Gods & Symbols of Uttara Bhadrapada
Ahirbudhnya
Serpent of the Deep — Lord of the Cosmic Waters. A symbol of fertility, kundalini energy, psychic energy, need for seclusion to go deep, exploration of the darker areas of life. Part of Lord Shiva’s army, an emissary of vital power. The collective unconscious is a powerful force, dreams acting on us from so deep that most people are not aware, but Uttara Bhadrapada natives are aware. With moon here they are comfortable moving with those deep unseen and unknown currents. They can keep things buried deep, but the serpents will come out to play when it gets dark. If you have not made your peace with your ancient ancestors, they will destroy you. Just give your portion to shiva, let things spill over the edge once in a while and everything will be ok. This is a part of Pisces where the universalisation destroys all the particulars; the particles are dissolved in the ocean.
Ananta Vishnu
A woman named Sushila was walking by the river when she came across a group of women making worship to Ananta; the Ananta Frat (observance). For this vrat, they make a statue of Ananta out of Darbha grass, place it in a basket and worship it with flowers and food and incense, a full party. Sushila joined the ladies for the spiritual observance like a confused tourist. Afterward, they tied a 14 knot thread to her wrist. Afterwards, she returned to her husband, sage Kaundinya, and they walked to a town called Amaravat where they were welcomed.
The locals were generous and everyone prospered. Sage Kaurndnya grew very rich, but also very prideful. Then one day he noticed the Ananta thread on his wife’s wrist and asked her about it. She glowed in telling him the blessing that had come into her life ever since she observed the frat and tied the thread. His pride got the better of him and he denied that any God worship had anything to do with anything and threw her thread in the cooking fire.
As we spirituality would expect, he then fell on hard times, lost his money, got scorned by the locals, the house caught fire, one thing after another. It was a sign that not even an ignorant oaf like himself couldn’t miss. He repented by going everywhere asking creatures and lakes where he could find Ananta to make amends. They saw a lot of unusual things in his travels until finally Ananta appeared to him as a brahmin. Ananta explained the significance of the unusual sights and forgave Kaundinya for his scorn. Ananta taught him the fourteen year Ananta Chaturdashi vow which brings wealth in this life and a place in the stars after life.
Vritra – Ahi
The great dragon personification of drought was infamously slain by Indra. Vritra was said to be blocking the course of the rivers causing drought until one day some poor soul gets too drunk on Soma, and is given a thunderbolt, and all the space of three worlds to go to battle with the dragon. We see a connection to Mrigasirsha, Jyeshta, Sravana, Chitra and perhaps even Purva Bhadrapada which is itself a thunderbolt. One version even has Soma, Varuna & Agni refer to Vritra as their father before agreeing to help Indra in battle.
He was a creation of Tvasar (Chitra) meant to kill Indra. Vritra was born on the south side of the sacrificial fire and grew to enormous, hideous proportions. He is likened to a large black stone (does this relate with the black stone of Mecca?). He covered everything in his darkness and seemed to devour the whole universe. He is known as “the one who covers everything;” “the blocker.” We can understand this in broad terms knowing that these natives will try to cover things up so that their true motives, and their crimes remain undetected.
Cosmic Rain – Cosmic Rays
Electrically charged trace elements raining down from space. Some come from the Sun. Cosmic rays are one type of ionising radiation, meaning they are energetic enough to knock electrons out of atoms, ionising them. If the atom is part of electronics or computing equipment, this can change the performance of the electronics or cause a one-time error in a computer. If the atom is part of a living being, perhaps part of a DNA molecule, it can damage the biological tissue, perhaps causing a mutation in the DNA.
Cosmic rays are therefore part of the naturally occurring radiation dose that people receive throughout their lives. Because Earth’s atmosphere absorbs most of the energy of cosmic rays, only a small fraction reaches ground level. Earth’s magnetic field also deflects many of the original primary cosmic rays before they reach the atmosphere, providing further protection.
Cosmic rays, therefore, contribute a small fraction of the total radiation dose people receive; for example, it’s an even smaller amount than that which comes naturally from radioactive isotopes in Earth’s crust. Moreover, both computing equipment and biological tissue can identify and correct the errors caused by ionising radiation much of the time. In situations where neither the atmosphere nor Earth’s magnetic field can shield people from cosmic rays, such as on a long flight to Mars, the radiation dose from cosmic rays would be more concerning.

Vala
Vritra’s brother. A personification of a cave where thieves and greedy merchants hide the cows they have stolen. Of course in those days cows were the same as currency. Note the similarities with the story of Hermes who, as an infant, steals his brother’s cattle, hides them in a cave, and goes to great lengths to cover up his crime.
It has been noted that Vritra, Vala & Varuna share a similar root definition relating to veiling, covering things up, cloaking, or enclosing. This suggests some connection with Shatabhisha nakshatra as well.
Central verses of the Rig Veda (trans. Griffith): 2.12.3
Who slew the Dragon, freed the Seven Rivers, and drove the kine forth from the cave of Vala, Begat the fire between two stones, the spoiler in warriors’ battle, He, O men, is Indra.
2.15.8 Praised by the Angirases he slaughtered Vala, and burst apart the bulwarks of the mountain. He tore away their deftly-built defences. These things did Indra in the Soma’s rapture. 8.14.7 In Soma’s ecstasy Indra spread the firmament and realms of light, when he cleft Vala limb from limb. (compare to this description the Purusha sukta). 10.68.6 Brihaspati, when he with fiery lightning cleft through the weapon of reviling Vala, Consumed him as tongues eat what teeth have compassed: he threw the prisons of the red cows open. 1.11.5 Lord of the thunder, thou didst burst the cave of Vala rich in cows. The Gods came pressing to thy side, and free from terror aided thee, 1.62.4 Mid shout, loud shout, and roar, with the Navagvas, seven singers, hast thou, heavenly, rent the mountain; Thou hast, with speeders, with Dasagvas, Indra, Shakra, with thunder rent obstructive Vala.

Stars of Uttara Bhadrapada
- Alpha-Andromedae (Alpheratz)- marks her head at the edge of Pegasus. This star is alternately known as the navel of the horse. Alpheratz means, “the horse.” Chinese astrology suggests Alpha Andromeda and Gamma Pegasi made up a “wall,” the eastern wall of the palace grounds,
- Beta-Andromedae (Mirach)The girdle or loin cloth
- Gamma Andromeda (Almach): The left foot of Andromeda. Almach refers to an African desert lynx. The Chinese considered this star and ten nearby stars as his subordinates.
- Phi Persei: The star that makes up her right foot is considered part of Perseus.
- Spiral galaxy M31: An elongated blur on her right hip
Mirach’s Ghost:
Part of Andromeda. A star in the “girdle” of the chained woman.
Alternate names: Mirak, meaning loins or genitals. could mean woman, or “let the milk flow.” Ptolemy relates this star with Venus (and Neptune). Relates with the divine feminine, Virgin Mary, Angel Gabriel, Kali,
Greek Princess Andromeda: She had a weak father and a boastful mother who claimed her daughter was even more beautiful than the Sea Nymphs. Of course the Sea Nymphs didn’t take this well and complained to Poseidon who had to do something to pacify the ladies: so he sent a sea monster (or maybe it was a flood) to ravage the coastline. The king appealed to the Oracle of Ammon and was told to sacrifice his beautiful virgin daughter to the sea and his problems would be solved. This is how we come to poor innocent, shy Andromeda suffering for the sins of her mother, who came to be chained-up to the rocks on the coast of Jaffa (modern day Tel-Aviv).
So we have her mother looking on from afar, filled with remorse and bitterness over the perceived unfairness, and the daughter scared and cold waiting for the crashing waves to take her life. Hope was at a low point. And then along came Perseus riding on the back of Pegasus to ask her why she was chained up there. As she told her story the sea-monster came crashing through the waves to devour her, but Percius had heard enough and after asking for her hand in marriage, dispatched the monster with his diamond encrusted sword. The great hero saves his princess.

The most interesting thing about this is the distinct lack of people representing this ascendant. When I get to rectifying possible errors in the birth times I suspect this list will get even smaller

Moon in Uttara Bhadrapada
“It is when obstacles do not seem to be present that it is most important to be on our guard. Nothing is more fraught with danger than to mistake a temporary state for a permanent one. We must expect cycles of clarity and confusion, recognising what falls from clarity may be more disturbing than a state of no clarity at all. When obstacles appear, it is necessary to advance toward a state of reflection to reduce their impact and prevent them from taking over.” ― T.K.V. Desikachar
