They can get a little carried away with their work when Saturn is in Ardra, This can be good for journalism, business communications and editors. People who like to put information into order. There can be a slight scientific bent to the mind in this way. Afflictions, especially by Rahu or Mars can bring a bit of obsessive compulsive behaviour and they seem to be susceptible to addictive tendencies. They generally have a kind of crew or gang of old friends who they’ve known forever. Their story is usually put in order in advance, sometimes because they are lying, but also because they have this administrative mindset they tries to put everything in order: resume, calendar, narrative; planners, organisers, administrators. The narrative will be very linear, first this, then then, then the next

Stiff gestures, arms, hands, chest. They often work with their hands in some way that makes them stiff, sore, calloused and dirty. Guitar players don’t just have callous on their fingertips, they also suffer from things like tennis elbow, frozen shoulder, tendonitis and carpal tunnel syndrome. Writers also suffer these kinds of problems, and back in the old days they had those clunky typewriters and ink getting all over everything. Can you imagine how sore the hands would get taping away at something like that.

It’s a good position for architects, people who work in the planning phase of a project, draw up plans or patents, blueprints, lists. They usually have a good memory, and are good with numbers, but their social skills can be a little weak. This Saturn can give shop talk; just talking about work, facts, fugures, and some long narratives that have all the facts, but may be missing some heart. Despite this, there are some really good musicians and song writers here.

They tend to have a somewhat dirty mentality, and will be doubtful of religion; they are usually more worried about the details than with the grand theories. They might maintain a fairly simplistic view of then world. There is no shortage of activists with this Saturn, there seems to at least be some kind of counter-culture bent in them. From Gemini he castes his look on Leo and Sagittarius:; perhaps he questions the established truths, brings in his characteristic doubt to these truth and light beaming fire signs. There are some actors that have this, but they are not exactly good actors, they often have a persona that puts even their real selves into question. They usually just play whatever this personal is; they play themselves; but their own selves is often heavily cloaked in stories, lies, half-truths and the like. They can be very determined, quietly determined. They might also have a serious message; but it might be a long time before anyone takes them seriously. They will be stuck just outside of the mainstream; their work just a little too out there in the wild.

The friction between Mars and Saturn can lead to a long drawn out battle and some kind of controversy is common with this placement. They might be chased by the law or by the mob

Saturn in Mrigashirsa might explain the slow trench warfare of WWI and the second war that was need to resolve a few unresolved enmities. Around the same time de Nero’s “most realistic gun fight in movie history” played out in “Heat,” there was a real-life bank heist and gun battle that was the same as in the movie. Thunberg is also known for her stubborn battle against global warming. But it seems reasonable that inspiration might be restricted to reality; a kind of stunted imagination.

Saturn in Ardra

This Saturn touches a nerve a little bit, puts them out on the edge of the social norms. They can also be very inventive. They might work with details and learn to be very careful. They might be laking a clear map in their work, perhaps their hobby becomes their job. They make very good administrators and multitaskers. They often work outside of the system in some way. Obsessive compulsive behaviour often becomes common, they will always be asked to prove their data. They can develop a good memory for facts and numbers.

There is usually something a bit edgy about their work.  This can be a pretty brutal placement. This Saturn can give a feeling of responsibility for animals or animalistic behaviour and wilderness; for mob mentality. It suggests dementia in old age, possibly a mad scientist figure. They may be afraid of boogie men waiting to jump out from every shadow. Many belong to some kind of extremist group, somewhat dangerous fringe group, forbidden sex organisation, religious cult, black magic, militia, or gang, They will work closely with the wildlife whether human or animal. The wild animal inside of themselves may be repressed or held back (though Mars, Rahu or Ketu influence can release it with explosive, toxic, or deadly results. You could say that they take it upon themselves to be Rudra in defence of the innocent, of course such a role also involves the 12 years of penance that Rudra Aghore Bhairava had to complete.

When Ketu influences Saturn in Ardra, he brings in a sense of randomness and an apathy for the jungle. They can be good at mantra or repetition that brings trance. They typically practice and train the same movements over and over again. They can be good at meditation and spend much time alone. They are more akin to a survivalist than a yogi but they might be very good at using the body. They will typically use hard work and effort to get what they want, but what they want might not be possible so they have to keep up the pressure and resort to cruelty or deceit. This is very much the lone wolf whose responsibility and commitments might never be known; a ghost.

On the other hand, it’s a combination that, in an otherwise “civilised chart,” can cause a person to suddenly get lost in the wilderness, take a wrong turn downtown and end up in the wrong neighbourhood, or perhaps they have a whole period of life where they had taken a wrong turn. Likewise, wildlife might just show up at the door, criminals might come out of nowhere. There may be fear of the dark.

Saturn causes the lighting to get darker exaggerating the contrast of this dual Nakshatra: In Ingrid Bergman’s case they used a cinematography technique to darken her features and contrast the shadows. Michelangelo also had a unique way of using sharp contrasting tones rather than blending shadows to achieve depth of field. And these days they often talk about the poor lighting conditions he had to work under compared to today.

Tall and thin; lots of vata. Dark and sharp features, bony like Saturn.  They have to work for most of their life to be taken seriously. Gemini’s are usually a little light, but this Saturn brings them down to earth; it grounds them in the body a little more. They can still be playful and fun like a Gemini, but they are serious about that fun; perhaps it’s even in the daily schedule.  They might come off as self-conscious and a bit air headed. They usually have a lot going on and it usually all serves a purpose. Gemini’s intellectualism combined with Saturn’s practicality can serve them well in the material world; though they often debase themselves in some way along the way. Later they are like to be taken more seriously for their intelligence. Saturn in the ascendant generally give s a reserved personality and responsibilities early in life. Due to the persistent nature of the vata imbalance they will need to; and if they have any redeeming aspects or conjunctions, or if ascendant lord is even relatively well placed; they will learn to take care of their physical health. The 8th lord in the ascendant is likely to bring the need to major life changes and transformations ones body. Part of their stony personality might also be a way of keeping many dark secrets buried. Dark, sexy, fortunate; guarded but beneath the shell they are just average people, friendly, chatty Gemini types; at least they will become more so as they age. Serious and sexy personality, sexy symbols who may objectify their body to a certain degree, but this can help them to take care of themselves to a certain degree. They might feel responsible for the chase; both responsible for provoking it because it’s their job; and responsible for the consequences for that. They are blessed and cursed by their body.

These people are often tall, dark and mysterious. They may not maintain their health or appearance. They tend to make a lot of enemies and experience persecution. They have themselves been the underdog or  the whipping boy. They can be humble, hard workers capable of enduring hardship. They are usually working class or farm labourers, living close to nature.. They often have a pretty low self image, but their will work hard to prove themselves. They can easily objectify their own bodies for sex or labour. They can be a bit toxic in this way, but they might see the ends justifies some means.

Saturn in Punarvasu 1st House

Can give some level of bipolar or split personality; even if it’s just in the way of seasonal affective disorders. This sense of confinement or stone wall seems to be a theme with this placement as well. Heavily afflicted it could mean a noose. These natives tend to become sex objects. They might suffer greatly be the feeling that nobody really sees them for who they are. They can be hard and firm; they have no problem saying ‘no.’ This objectification will of course be a blessing and a curse as Cher & Jolie made a good living with their long cleavage and fine curves. This yoga karaka Saturn must be good for wealth in the long run. Good for resource management, financial planning, storage savings; more conservative family values. Taurus natives already embody many of the values of the second house. They are like to follow the family line of work and higher wisdom. This can be a challenging place for Saturn: despite the many financial advantage, these folks spend much of their lives trying to prove themselves through their wealth, financial success. It’s rather interesting that a climatologists is listed with two top members of a violent anti-government organisation called Weather Underground. Some of these folks might like to be seen as whistle-blowers, their words and wisdom might not be taken seriously. They might be persecuted and accused of lying. They will have to work very hard for others to see the value in their work, in their vision. This Saturn can certainly cloud their vision, their foresight. Saturn Mrigasirsha 6th House

They have the though job of playing the bad guy, but they too are stuck in the cycle of blame and accusation. Though it is possible that this placement causes white guilt, or a sense of shame for oneself and one family lineage. They are stuck in cycles of constant complaint, addiction, blame, accusation, racism, servitude. They might be dealing with near constant pain, poor digestion, exhaustion for working too much, sore feet, tired arms, low libido. Despite anything else, they tend to feel like they’ve been victimised, but others might debate this. Their speech can be crude, even their voice a little a little accusatory, say the wrong thing, and be blamed for their speech. They often have a persecution complex, but they might actually be getting persecuted because they’re white, or black; of because of sexual preference. They often get involved in social work or social justice.

Maybe it’s the Mars rulership of this Nakshatra that seems to make it one of the most difficult parts of this nakshatra.

Billie Holiday: Saturn aspected by Moon, Jupiter & Rahu. Jazz singer. After she recorded her iconic version of the protest song, Strange Fruit, she was constantly harassed by the Federal Bureau of Narcotics who wanted her to stop singing the song. In Rahu Saturn 1941 – ’44, she was arrested buying heroin and sentenced to a year in jail. She lost her cabaret licence due to the criminal record but she managed to continue her music career. But when Jupiter Saturn, 1957 – ’59, rolled around, she was back on Heroin and either too much or a bad dose landed her in the hospital where the narcotics officers handcuffed her to the gurney and forbade the hospital from treating her. She died from liver disease, but her heart and lungs were all weak from years of self-abuse. “I never hurt nobody but myself and that’s nobody’s business but my own.”

Close connections with pets and animals. In service to those who have no mind either from drugs, mental illness, or subhuman (pets or stray animals). With Ketu they can get into some really dirty service to the least fortunate without being attached to it at all. Pattabhi Jois: Saturn conjunct Mercury & Venus; hemmed by Sun & Mars.  Ashtanga-vinyasa. He may have felt somewhat beneath his western students and this actually allowed him to treat them sexually the way he did in order to bring them down to his level. He was notoriously manipulative and cranky. His method of yoga was not at all focused on health in the way his teachers yoga was; it was more about competitive posturing which is said to have caused more injuries than it’s healed. But he lived until 98 years old.    Moon Saturn 1920 – ’22: Age 5 – 7) It was about this time that his father started to give him the standard instruction Brahmin instruction on the rituals and mantras, Sanskrit and slokas; the basic ceremonial functions of Brahmin caste.  Mars Saturn 1929 – ’30: In 1929 he stopped his first two years of yoga studies with Krishnamacharya. In 1941 Citizen Kane was nominated for 8 Oscars and wins Best Screenplay. is more difficult for us to see because of the secretive nature of the 8th house it’s unlikely to be talked about or acknowledged; however we can usually intuit it. This placement can bring a a lot of guilt about sex as they seek to restrain their urge for guilty pleasures. Sex might also accompany some kind of chaos. They have a lot of fear of the unknown. They often have some belief in black magic and can easily be fooled by sorcerers and witches. They will face many hard storms.
