Swami Lakshman Joo: Saturn conjunct Moon & Venus; aspected by Mars & Rahu. Jupiter in Gemini.   He revived the ancient philosophy of Kashmiri Shaivism. He was a bit frail and thin in his asceticism. He often went into seclusion to conserve energy, withdraw from overstimulation, and manage his health. He suffered from some stomach problems due to his very simple diet. What was considered taboo, hidden and  suppressed in culture, he codified, preserved, and transmitted. He ferried Kashiri Shaivism across a span of 1000 years to a period of time that was ready for Tantra and the “rules” of dealing with taboo topics. He did not seek to popularize Shaivism; his style was simple and austere. Before he died, he literally ferried the Tantras around the world to California where, in proper Revati fashion, it has been pissed on diluted for the ignorant masses.

Rahu Saturn Aug 1976 – June 1979: Mark Dyczkowski arrives in 1976, is formally initiated by Swamiji, and thereafter spends ~six months a year with him—an unmistakable marker of the tradition’s global hand-off to scholar-practitioners. He began the long cycle of tape-recorded textual expositions; e.g., Bhagavad Gītārtha-saṃgraha recordings run 28 Nov 1978 – 3 Jun 1980. 

Jupiter Saturn started Sept 5 1991:  In 1991 he travels to the United States and establishes the Universal Shaiva Fellowship, appointing John & Denise Hughes to steward and publish his teachings. 

Swami Lakshman Joo died on September 27, 1991 t age 84. 

Bobby Marshall: Saturn conjunct Moon, Sun, Jupiter & Mercury; no aspects. Football & Law. His personality was shaped around endurance, paradox, and rule-making. On the football field, he channeled Saturn’s toughness; in the courtroom, he expressed Saturn’s law-giving. He was not very popular or glamorous, but he embodied the paradox of structural strength and raw survival. There was minimal equipment in his day and he suffered many injuries: repeated head injuries, broken bones, and joint degeneration. He became the wise elder.

He was a scientist of hidden laws, working with deep, unseen behavioral currents, conditioned reflexes, and instinctual reactions. Saturn Mahadasha 1902 – 1921: 1900s–10s: Famous experiments on conditioned reflexes with dogs — the very work that defined behaviorism. In 1904 he won the Nobel Prize in Physiology/Medicine for his work on digestion. World War I & Russian Revolution (1914–1917): He continued working, despite political upheaval, due to the recognition of his scientific authority.

Physiological Needs (base of the pyramid): Food, water, air, sleep, shelter, sex, clothing. These are survival needs. If unmet, they dominate all motivation.  2. Safety Needs: Personal security, health, financial security, protection from harm. Once survival is stable, people seek safety and stability.  3. Love & Belonging Needs: Friendship, family, intimacy, community. The need for relationships, acceptance, and belonging drives social behavior.  4. Esteem Needs: Self-esteem, recognition, status, respect from others. Two layers: (a) self-respect, mastery, achievement; (b) external validation.  5. He retired from basketball in 2001 after a successful career with the San Antonio Spurs (two-time NBA All-Star, NBA champion in 1999). In 1999, he underwent a kidney transplant (his brother Noel was the donor), becoming the first NBA player to return after an organ transplant. By high school (early 1980s), he was already a local star, setting the stage for his University of Arizona career.

This Saturn carries themes of personal identity and loss into the 2nd house of family causing them to feel disconnected from their own family despite feeling powerful ties with their lineage. John Bardeen: (AA) Physicist, electrical engineer, won the Nobel Prize in Physics two times.  Superconductor research. Won two Nobel Prizes in Physics, but his first (for transistors) was overshadowed by industry disputes. He often felt guilt that others weren’t credited properly. He was haunted by the imbalance between recognition and the collaborative reality of science.  (See Saturn 11th house.)

Saturn Mahadasha 1930 – 1949: These were key years of his research work, long hours int he lab, breakthroughs with little recognition. Worked at Gulf Oil Research Laboratory, Pittsburgh (1930–33). Corporate, hidden industrial research. Saturn put him in behind-the-scenes technical work while others took credit. He earned Ph.D. in mathematical physics from Princeton (1936). He joined Harvard as Junior Fellow (1935–38): an  obscure, low-paying gig that gave him freedom to study solid-state physics. Worked at the Naval Ordnance Lab during WWII (1941–45), developing magnetic detection of submarines. Again, Saturnian: invisible, life-and-death stakes, but little personal recognition. In 1945, joined Bell Labs as a researcher. Saturn stationed him in a collaborative but highly disciplined industrial lab. 1947: Co-invented the transistor with Shockley and Brattain. Recognition lagged: though the transistor was revolutionary, his personal credit was buried under corporate disputes and Shockley’s domineering personality. Saturn gave the achievement but withheld the glory until later.

Fifth Business: Robertson Davies’ Fifth Business opens with a very precise karmic moment: a snowball is thrown at a boy (Percy Boyd Staunton), who ducks, and it strikes a pregnant woman instead. That accident haunts the narrator (Dunstan Ramsay) for his entire life: a kind of indelible karmic mark of guilt, shame and secrecy. Saturn Mahadasha 1978 – 1997: He grew up in Pendleton, New York. Isolated teenager; bullied at school. Became deeply interested in guns and survivalism. felt alienated, financially and socially insecure, distrust of authority and obsession with self-reliance. Early jobs included security guard, fast food workers which were though to fuel his resentment. He enlisted in the U.S. Army (1988), became an excellent marksman, and trained for Special Forces. He fought in the Gulf War (1991) and was decorated with a Bronze Star for his troubles. He witnessed civilian casualties and destruction, which hardened his anti-government, anti-authoritarian stance. He was discharged after failing Special Forces selection. This is when his radicalization started. Out of the army he became obsessed with The Turner Diaries, a novel depicting armed rebellion against the U.S. government. Her attended gun shows, sold survival gear, and networked with anti-government militias. In 1992 he say Ruby Ridge Siege and 1993 Waco Siege unfold, both of which  were seen as proof of government tyranny. In 1994 – 95 he planned the bombinf with an accomplice, acquired ammonium nitrate fertilizer and other materials to build a massive truck bomb, and chose the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City as a symbolic target  On April 19, 1995 he detonated the truck bomb; killing 168 people, including children, and injuring 680+. This was the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history (until 9/11). He was quickly arrested, tried and executed in 2001, just after Saturn MD had ended.

Saturn Mahadasha 1981 – 2000: (age 13 – 32) This period was marked by early behavioral red flags: compulsive lying, attention-seeking, and repeated hospital visits with fabricated illnesses. She developed Munchausen syndrome patterns — self-inflicting injuries or feigning sickness to gain sympathy. Her school years were troubled; she was isolated, overweight, and often absent due to “illness.” By 1987 she began nurse training. Colleagues noted her erratic, manipulative behavior. Frequently absent from training, she still managed to qualify; an early sign of Saturn’s karmic distortion: responsibility given without foundation. She got her first hospital posts in the late 1980s, often in pediatric wards. February–April 1991: Assigned to Grantham and Kesteven Hospital children’s ward. Survivors included children left permanently disabled. 1991 – 93: Suspicion grew due to the pattern of collapses occurring under her watch. Arrested in 1991 after a police investigation. Trial opened in 1993; she was convicted on 13 charges (4 murders, 9 attempted murders, 6 grievous bodily harms). Sentenced to life imprisonment (minimum 30 years). Imprisoned at Rampton Secure Hospital rather than a standard prison, due to mental health issues. Diagnosed with Munchausen’s syndrome by proxy (inflicting harm to others to gain attention). The rest of her Saturn Mahadasha was spent in incarceration, with little public record except continued controversy over her psychiatric condition and whether she should have been in hospital or prison.

Ketu Saturn Nov. 1893 – Dec. 1894 (age 14-15):  He was living in Munich; had just renounced his German citizenship to avoid military service in the Kingdom of Württemberg. He was a rebellious, independent teenager. He left the Luitpold Gymnasium and moved to Pavia, Italy, to rejoin his family. 

Venus Saturn Oct. 1908 – Dec 1911: In 1908, Einstein was still working at the Swiss Patent Office in Bern, but by now his 1905 “Annus Mirabilis” papers had begun to make waves. He began teaching part-time at the University of Bern (a small post, not yet prestigious). In 1909, he resigned from the Patent Office—a major leap of faith—and accepted a full professorship at the University of Zurich. He started gaining international attention. By 1911, he was invited to the First Solvay Conference in Brussels, where he met major scientists like Max Planck and Marie Curie. This was the beginning of his integration into the elite European physics community, though he was still on the edges, seen as the “young radical.” In 1911, Einstein accepted a position in Prague, at the German University—his first German-language university professorship. During this Prague period, he began to seriously refine and extend his ideas about gravitation, which would evolve into the general theory of relativity.  His relationship with Mileva Marić (his first wife) was deteriorating. Their son Eduard was born in 1910. He would later be diagnosed with schizophrenia. He often worked in isolation, disconnected from other theoretical physicists. He once said, “I am a horse for single harness.”  He pulled away from ordinary joys, as he focused ever more on truth, beauty, and the structure of reality.

Sun Saturn Oct. 1918 – Oct. 1919 (age 39 – 40): World War I just ended. Einstein’s general theory of relativity was confirmed via the 1919 eclipse experiment. This period marked his sudden rise to global fame, though he was internally quite troubled and emotionally strained from the aftermath of WWI and the collapse of the German empire

Moon Saturn Mar. 1926. – Oct. 1927: Lived in Berlin, working at the Prussian Academy of Sciences. Saturn Mahadasha 1855 – 1874: He founded the Pinkerton Detective Agency just before this dasha began. Dostoyevsky: (C- rating. Quick rectification 2hrs, to 07:47.) Saturn aspected by Mars. Jupiter in Aries. Persecuted by the government: Grew up playing with the poor kids on the grounds of the hospital his father worked at. (See Saturn 11th from Moon.) 

Mars Saturn Jan. 1825 – Aug. 1832: (age 3 – 10) He grew up in Moscow on the grounds of the Mariinsky Hospital for the Poor, where his father worked as a doctor. The environment was dark and somber. His early years were marked by exposure to both hardship and suffering (hospital grounds, death, poverty), and also strict, often harsh parental discipline. Dostoyevsky himself later recalled playing with poor children at the hospital, a first glimpse of class struggles and the moral questions that became central in his novels.

Rahu Saturn Sept. 1837 – Jul. 1840: (age 15 – 18) In 1837, his beloved mother, Maria, died of tuberculosis. This was a devastating blow, deepening his sense of grief and alienation. Around the same time, his father sent him and his brother to the Nikolayev Military Engineering Institute in St. Petersburg. Dostoyevsky hated the regimented, technical, Saturnian education. He felt isolated, cut off from warmth and home. In 1839, his father was killed under mysterious circumstances by his own serfs—an event that haunted Dostoyevsky’s psyche and echoed in his lifelong themes of patricide, guilt, and divine punishment.

In 1866 he published Crime and Punishment, which was written in a feverish haste. It was steeped in guilt, sin, punishment, and redemption. The same year, he was nearly assassinated by a radical student. To pay off gambling debts, he rushed The Gambler (dictated to a stenographer, Anna Grigoryevna Snitkina, whom he later married). 1870s: He produced The Idiot.  1871–72: Published Demons (aka The Possessed), a scathing critique of nihilism and revolutionary violence. In 1872 his daughter Sonya died in infancy.  1872 – 73: He lived in Europe in semi-exile to escape creditors; likely due to his gambling addiction. But he turned increasingly toward Orthodoxy, repentance, and the spiritual essence that would culminate in Brothers Karamazov. In 1873 he began editing the conservative journal Citizen, publishing essays on religion, nationalism, and morality. He also wrote the  final chapters of Devils’, his darkest, most chaotic work. IN 1875 he published The Adolescent, a semi-autobiographical novel about family wounds and the search for identity. His wife, Anna, gave birth to several children, but only two (Lyubov and Fyodor Jr.) survived. The others died young.  He wrote A Writer’s Diary (1876–77), which became his public voice: essays on social, religious, and political issues. Intense engagement with Russian identity, Orthodoxy, and moral philosophy. His son Aleksei died in 1878 of epilepsy. 1879–80: Published The Brothers Karamazov, his final, towering masterpiece. His epileptic fits intensified, mirroring the epileptic characters he often portrayed (e.g., Prince Myshkin, Smerdyakov).  IN 1880 he gave his famous Pushkin Speech, a moment of national recognition; he was hailed as a prophet of Russia. His health worsened. Tensions in Russia (terrorism, revolutionary undergrounds, Tsarist repression). On Jan 1881 Tsar Alexander II assassinated; Dostoyevsky was horrified but saw it as a symptom of Russia’s spiritual decay. Feb 9, 1881: Dostoyevsky died, just after completing Brothers Karamazov.

Leon Trotsky: Saturn aspected by Venus; hemmed by Jupiter & Mars. For most of his life he was changing residence, live in harbour district, or Vienna. Cold wet homes. For the later part of his life he was exiled and had his Russian citizenship revoked and no other country wanted him there because of his revolutionary writing and speech. He was exiled several times, perhaps the yoga parka nature of Saturn allowed him to escape. Maybe it’s the Saturn aspect; or maybe being hemmed between Jupiter & Mars somehow helped. He was celibate all his life, no children, detached from worldly pleasures. His deep interest in alchemy and scripture also shows his Purva Bhadrapada paradox: mystical seeker /  rational scientist. Law of Inertia = Tamas / Śakti’s concealment. A body at rest remains at rest, or in uniform motion, unless acted upon by force. It represents the tendency of things to remain bound, to resist change until disturbed by outside force (Rajas). 
Law of Force = Rajas / Spanda. Change of motion (acceleration) is proportional to force applied, and in its direction. Rajas is energy, passion, the stirring principle. In Trika, this corresponds to spanda, the vibration that sets Śiva-Śakti into dynamic expression. Motion and transformation occur when consciousness applies force — the “push” of will (icchā śakti). The late 1920s–1930s brought forced collectivization, the Five-Year Plans, and the terror famine (Holodomor). 1936–38: Great Purge. This Saturn brings a double dose of unconventional beliefs both via 8th lord in 9th house and Saturn in Purva Bhadrapada. They are like to face many tests of their faith’s they pursue more traditional esoteric subjects. Saturn is more likely to restrict them from the normal course of education and spirituality and force them to make the effort to learn on their own. There will often doubt their own path and beliefs but this will only make them more determined to study hard and prove themselves and their knowledge. It’s like that there path will not be recognized by formal institutions and it’s likely to have a nice mix of mysticism and occultism (Purva Bhadapada) and humanism (Jupiter). They will likely challenge social norms the whole way, which only makes their life more difficult and delays any hope they have for recognition. Rectified 05:37) Saturn has no aspects or conjunctions, but making sign exchange with Jupiter in Aquarius.  He is often regarded as a living embodiment of Advaita Vedānta (non-dualism), though he himself never formally studied scriptures before his awakening. (See Saturn 10th from Moon.)

Saturn Mahadasha 1883 – 1902: (Age 3 – 22) Grew as an ordinary boy in a middle-class Brahmin family and was not particularly drawn to spiritual practice. He played, wrestled, and swam like other boys. His father died May 18, 1892. His father, Sundaram Iyer was a pleader (lawyer) in Tiruchuzhi. His sudden death left the family in financial hardship. Ramana’s mother (Alagammal) moved with her children to Madurai, where they stayed with her brother. At age 16 (1896), he experienced a sudden and profound fear of death. Instead of panicking, he turned inward, asking: “Who is it that dies?” This led to an intense realization: the body may die, but the true Self is deathless, pure awareness. This spontaneous self-inquiry gave him abiding Self-realization without a guru or formal practice. There he lived in silence for years, absorbed in the Self, often neglecting his body completely.  He rarely gave formal discourses. His primary teaching was “Self-Inquiry”: Asking “Who am I?” or “To whom does this thought arise?” until the mind dissolves back into the Self. By 1899 he had completely withdrawn to caves around Arunachal.

For the later part of his life he was exiled and had his Russian citizenship revoked and no other country wanted him there because of his revolutionary writing and speech. He was exiled several times, perhaps the yoga parka nature of Saturn allowed him to escape. Maybe it’s the Saturn aspect; or maybe being hemmed between Jupiter & Mars somehow helped. In any case, he also spent much time under house arrest in Turkey, France & Norway. He spent most of his life travelling. Jupiter in Aquarius. physicist, mathematician, astronomer, natural philosopher, and alchemist, regarded by many as the greatest figure in the history of science. His treatise Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, published in 1687, described universal gravitation and the three laws of motion, laying the groundwork for classical mechanics. He was celibate all his life, no children, detached from worldly pleasures. (See Saturn 7th house.)

Ketu Saturn Nov. 1893 – Dec. 1894 (age 14-15):  He was living in Munich; had just renounced his German citizenship to avoid military service in the Kingdom of Württemberg. He was a rebellious, independent teenager. He left the Luitpold Gymnasium and moved to Pavia, Italy, to rejoin his family. 
Venus Saturn Oct. 1908 – Dec 1911: In 1908, Einstein was still working at the Swiss Patent Office in Bern, but by now his 1905 “Annus Mirabilis” papers had begun to make waves. He began teaching part-time at the University of Bern (a small post, not yet prestigious). In 1909, he resigned from the Patent Office—a major leap of faith—and accepted a full professorship at the University of Zurich. He started gaining international attention. By 1911, he was invited to the First Solvay Conference in Brussels, where he met major scientists like Max Planck and Marie Curie. This was the beginning of his integration into the elite European physics community, though he was still on the edges, seen as the “young radical.” In 1911, Einstein accepted a position in Prague, at the German University—his first German-language university professorship. During this Prague period, he began to seriously refine and extend his ideas about gravitation, which would evolve into the general theory of relativity.  His relationship with Mileva Marić (his first wife) was deteriorating. Their son Eduard was born in 1910. He would later be diagnosed with schizophrenia. He often worked in isolation, disconnected from other theoretical physicists. He once said, “I am a horse for single harness.”  He pulled away from ordinary joys, as he focused ever more on truth, beauty, and the structure of reality.
Sun Saturn Oct. 1918 – Oct. 1919 (age 39 – 40): World War I just ended. Einstein’s general theory of relativity was confirmed via the 1919 eclipse experiment. This period marked his sudden rise to global fame, though he was internally quite troubled and emotionally strained from the aftermath of WWI and the collapse of the German empire
Moon Saturn Mar. 1926. – Oct. 1927: Lived in Berlin, working at the Prussian Academy of Sciences. Engaged in fierce debate around the uncertainty of the universe with Niels Bohr over quantum mechanics (Bohr-Einstein debates). He rejected the probabilistic nature of quantum physics (“God does not play dice”). This period marks a slow ideological estrangement from mainstream physics. 
Mars Saturn May 1934 – June 1935: Fled Germany in 1933 after Hitler’s rise. Settled at Princeton University in the U.S. by 1935. Deepened pacifist and anti-nationalist stances.
Rahu Saturn Jun. 1944 – Nov. 1946: Final years of WWII. The U.S. dropped atomic bombs on Japan. Einstein, though not directly involved in the Manhattan Project, wrote the letter to Roosevelt that spurred it. He later regretted his role in the bomb’s development.
He died a few years before Jupiter Saturn in1959 and never lived to See Saturn Mahadasha. He died on April 18, 1955, at the age of 76, in Princeton, New Jersey. The cause of death was an abdominal aortic aneurysm, which had been known about but he refused surgery for, saying: “I want to go when I want. It is tasteless to prolong life artificially.”

Kristen Gilbert: Saturn conjunct Moon; aspected by Mars & Venus. Jupiter in Leo.  Serial killer nurse. (See Saturn conjunct Moon.) 

Venus Saturn 1998 – 2001: suffered from an unstable mind with both Moon & Mercury quite heavily afflicted. It’s suspected she killed over 350 people while in capacity as a nurse. When the investigation into the deaths began, she called in a bomb threat to try to derail the investigation. She was convicted for the bomb threats in April 1998 after a four month investigation. A few year later, March 14, 2001, she was convicted of the murders. 27 March, 2001, the judge formally sentenced Gilbert to four consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole, plus 20 years. She was transferred from a prison for women to a secure psych ward where she has remained ever since. We might notice that Rahu is not particularly afflicted (other than an aspect from the 8th lord), but Mars, Rahu’s dispositor is aspected by Saturn & Rahu. We might expect more help from Jupiter due to his aspects on both Rahu and Mars, but with Rahu’s aspect and in poor angle from the Moon, this Jupiter only added to the crimes.

Saturn Mahadasha 1976 – 1995:  After arrests for obscenity, drugs in the early 70’s, he shifted from “hippie doper comic” to sharper cultural critic. He released On the Road (1977) and George Carlin at USC (1977)., A Place for My Stuff (1981), a wordplay-driven, observational humor piece. He also published the book Sometimes a Little Brain Damage Can Help (1984). Saturn–Ketu 1982–1983: Ketu brings edginess, detachment, darker themes. Jupiter Saturn 1851 – ’54: (Age 30 – 33) On Nov. 16, 1849 he was sentenced to death, but then exiled to a Siberian work camp for four years. A couple of his co-conspirators had already been killed by firing squad. He was released in 1854 and went on to Mongolia to work as a soldier on the frontier. (See Saturn
