Solar Eclipse: Sun, Moon, Rahu within 5 degrees.

Sun & Moon in Magha – Mars in Ashlesha – Rahu in Ashlesha – Ketu in Dhanista – Saturn in Jyeshta – Jupiter in Chitra

Big events, like natural and man-made disasters often happen near the eclipses of the Sun and Moon. Considering the Sun and Moon will have already crossed Rahu by the time of the actual eclipse, I suspect most of the fireworks may be complete by the 21^st of August.

The Sun and Moon will be together in Magha, a royal nakshatra whose symbol is the throne. Magha symbolizes the beginning of a new cycle, and the political overtones can be revolutionary due to Ketu’s rulership. Magha is fierce & fiery & tamasic & raksha. This will be a good time for harsh activity to impose traditional values.

Rahu and Mars conjunction will bring hyper-defensiveness, and a great outpouring of impassioned emotion. Venus is also here so it could turn into a big hippy love in where everything so beautiful and perfect “and anyways I love you, you’re a beautiful person.” But Mars is also in debilitation so perhaps the hippy love-in is provoking a hyper-defensiveness reaction bloodying a nose or two. Rahu in Cancer likes feeling emotion; everything is an emotional event for Rahu in Cancer. Your own Rahu and Moon will decide the content of that emotion.

I want to also point out that Magha also a shudra nakshatra despite the associations with power and royalty, respect, achievement and ultimate glory, Magha is still focused on service in the same way and reasonable king or ruler is servant of the people.

Cancer and Scorpio are the sensitive points of August 21^st. Taurus is also receiving negative aspects from Saturn and Ketu, but Jupiter’s aspect has power to maintain harmony here as well as in Capricorn which is receiving aspects from Mars, Venus and Saturn as well as Jupiter. Ketu is a new occupant of this sign. No doubt there will be sudden changes of government, and executive power will flex it’s muscles; but Saturn is taking care of his own house by 3^rd aspect and Jupiter is also lending his judicial weight so Capricornious things like public service should continue to flow. 

 

Aries

Rahu will now be in the 4^th house for Aries natives. The emotions mentioned earlier will be felt most by Aries natives who will have Rahu affecting both Cancer and 4^th house Aspects on 8^th and 12^th houses will open up some opportunity for travel, research, occult activity, bed pleasures and philanthropy. Jupiter in the 6^th can become a source of annoyance though his aspects to 10^th, 12^th, and 2^nd will be more welcome as they suggest noble reputation, charitable expenses, and savings. Saturn will be in the 8^th house adding to our longevity and offering some unwanted responsibility for confidential information. Ketu’s activity in the 10^th house will be good for retirement, though career related activities could take a unique turn.

Taurus

Rahu will be coming into the 3^rd house for Taurus natives. This position is likely to increase our effort and help us to strive just a little harder to get what we want. Rahu is not particularly interested in rules as long as he feels safe. His aspect on 7^th house could be good for relationships though Rahu hard effort coupled with his illusory nature could get you into a situation that’s difficult to get out of. Jupiter will be in the 5^th house, which can have excellent effects for students, teachers, performers and investment gain. Saturn will be in the 7^th house bringing some durability to relationships and contracts even if they are not going well. On the other hand, this Saturn can put up walls between you and “your other.” Forming relationships could be difficult, and things like contracts and negotiations may get delayed or derailed. With Saturn and Ketu both aspecting 1^st house, you may need to be aware of your health, though as I said earlier, Jupiter’s aspect here will help by advice or luck. Ketu will be aspecting the 9^th house, which should be excellent for spirituality as Ketu introduces you to a variety of new spiritual beliefs. This is not a good position for following your family or birth religious traditions.

 

Gemini

Rahu will be in the 2^nd house for Gemini natives. This will give a strong desire to appear wealthy, secure and stable. His aspects on 6^th house can bring some illnesses related to over indulgence and his aspect on 10^th house can push you to connect with society in new ways. Jupiter will be in the 4^th house allowing you to combine work and home life (or work and pleasure). Jupiter’s aspect on 8^th house can enrich your secrets, and his aspect on 12^th can bring some good from the many expenses that may be incurred. Saturn will be in the 6^th house making you take responsibility for your pains and illnesses and the various little obstacles we face in life (this included jobs we may take to pay the bills rather then build upon our career). His aspects on 8^th and 12^th house can be good for long distance travel and his aspect on 3^rd house will bring responsibilities related with younger siblings or friends. Ketu in the 8^th house dissipate your research and bring unexpected and unusual illnesses, especially shocking secrets, disturb your sleep and separate you from your home and happiness.

 

Cancer 

Rahu will be transiting 1^st house. This can be an intense time for Cancer natives as they seek to flex their ego and be known as a unique and worthy individual. Generally there is nothing wrong with this perspective, but Rahu can sometimes forget about all the ways we are connected with others. Rahu in 1^st can also disturb ones health. Rahu will be looking at the 5^th and the 9^th houses which can be good for productivity, education and spirituality. Jupiter will be in the 3^rd house helping out our relationship capacity in a variety of ways. Jupiter in 3^rd will also ensure that you follow dharma in your effort. Saturn will be in the 5^th house. This may not be a good time to bring babies into this world, but it will be a very good time for you to focus on the children and other productive growths for which you may be responsible. With Saturn Jupiter and Ketu all looking at the 11^th house there is likely to be lots of changing activity here: gains are likely, but as old goals are achieved new goals will need to be made. Saturn will also be aspecting the 2^nd house, which could suggest some added family responsibilities as well as keeping a close eye on your savings.

 

Leo

Rahu will be in the 12^th hose for Leo natives. With Mars and Venus both there this could be a very good time for pleasure as these three are unlikely to allow much sleep to occur. Virgo

Rahu will be in the 11^th house from Virgo. This can be good for gains, fame and working towards you hopes and dreams. Libra

Rahu will be in the 10^th house for Libra natives. I would expect mostly positive developments in your career thru August – September and thru Rahu’s transit in Cancer. The difficulty with this Rahu is his aspect on the 6^th house, which will make you want to be known as someone who fixes problems. The problems to be fixed will, of course, be the problem; I don’t doubt your ability to fix them; it’s you ability to make them. Jupiter will be in the 12^th house for Libra natives. This Jupiter can bring a variety of expenses into your life, particularly regarding health since Jupiter is in Virgo and aspects the 6^th house. But his aspects to 4^th house can bring expansion into the home (renovations or new family members are both possibilities). Saturn will be in the 2^nd house reining in spending and making you work hard for extra gains. Ketu in the 4^th house could bring a change of residence due to internal governance.

 

Scorpio

Rahu will be in the 9^th house for Scorpio natives. This will bring a strong desire for higher knowledge and if Rahu has reached maturity beyond late 30’s, this position could also bring a strong desire to teach. Jupiter will be in the 11^th house supporting a variety of options for gain and profit and his aspect on 5^th house will be very supportive of educational opportunities. His aspects on 3^rd and 7^th houses will not likely be so obviously beneficial, but Jupiter will be working to improve your relationship and keep you out of trouble that may sometimes come by own effort. Scorpio will again be hosting Saturn in the 1^st house, the planet of maturity and responsibility. His aspect on the 7^th house can bring dryness to relationships, to career, and even group activities. Everything is likely to feel like some kind of responsibility. Ketu in the 3^rd house can bring you in touch with new groups and organizations but his aspects could make it difficult for you to really feel connected with others.

 

Sagittarius

Rahu will be in the 8^th house supporting travel, seeking, and research. By aspect he could bring some foreign influence into your home if you do not go out and seek it for yourself. Jupiter will be in the 10^th house supporting your career with some extra tasks that might not necessarily mean extra pay, however his aspect on 2^nd house could suggest increased savings. You will just have to watch out for some of the obstacles and duties that could be handed to you thru his aspect on 6^th house. Saturn will be in the 12^th house restricting expenditure; you may already be spending your savings so this is not necessarily a good thing. Saturn will also be looking at your 6^th house, which is actually better than Jupiter’s aspect since it is more likely to translate into some kind of service which can be redeeming. His aspect on the 9^th house could give you a sense of responsibility for your beliefs that can always be enlightening. Ketu will be in the 2^nd house causing problems with your savings, but also saving you from much grief thru his dispersing aspect on 6^th house. His aspect on the 8^th house can limit your ability for great transformation in this period, but if it does come, it will hardly take any encouragement.

 

Capricorn

Rahu will be in the in the 7^th house From Capricorn natives bring a strong desire to connect with others. Ketu in the 1^st house can do a lot to scatter our sense of self and follow someone else’s lead. Rahu’s aspects on 11^th and 3^rd will hint at a desire to be known for your efforts. And it could very well be that you are only following some other person because you think they can help you get what you want. Jupiter will be in the 9^th house: this can create excellent conditions for making some spiritual effort, seeking higher knowledge, and even moksha. Saturn’s 11^th house transit could have a restrictive influence on your gains and you are likely to come into contact with the common people of society. If you’re patient, wealth could accrue from the sales of liquid assets or from family wealth. You may have feelings of responsibility for children and other creative/ productive responsibilities and if you are reading moon in Capricorn you might find your self a little more cold and calculating emotionally (especially as September comes to a close.

 

Aquarius

Aquarius might become very busy in the period after August 2017. The following year will be an excellent period for overcoming obstacles and completing your duties. You could find yourself motivated by a desire to make some savings or invest in some asset for your home or pleasure. Finances are certainly highlighted in this period. Be careful about going into debt for things you might regret later. It could be a very good period to gain thru confidential sources, from some unique knowledge or information you have, or by occult practice or means. This is also a good time to take on extra responsibilities in your career; but you will want to be careful about working too much. It might be necessary to make greater structure in the home in order to serve your career. You will also be feeling committed to your relationships.
